Agent based network abstraction is an interesting alternative to traditional VPN.

It's still traditional VPN, though. Other than automating the configuration, it's all stuff you could have done with OpenVPN or whatever decades ago. It's nice that it auto-configures and it is a great product (or was, appears mostly abandoned now) but it's not an alternative or new VPN, it's just a mesh VPN setup.

The software. The hardware is about equal, sort of.

But a $95 Ubiquiti is faster than a $3,000 CIsco. So the hardware still matters. Cisco at $3,000 is "Maybe able to handle your house."

      Prove this.

Don't bullshit or theorize. Prove it. Get a unit and run tests or stopping stating it like a fact and predicate these statements with "in my opinion" and such.

Granted I'll never buy Cisco in the SMB when Ubiquiti exists for the cost and performance that it currently exists with.

But none of that invalidates the quality or functionality of Cisco hardware and software.

Cost has nothing to do with that.

I'm not the one making the claim, it's based off of measured PPS between the two.

You are the one always making the claim and have never linked to source material to back up your claims.

I've never made the claim. I've repeated Ubiquiti's performance measurements. It's nothing to do with me. I just remember the number and repeat it as it is a critical guideline for understanding where Ubiquiti falls within the Cisco product range. When people are talking $10K Ciscos, we can't talk Ubiquiti, it just doesn't make sense. But at $3K and below, I've never had anyone come up with any value proposition to Cisco gear considering that Ubiquiti is measured at better throughput until that price point. Granted, Ubiquiti did the study, but Cisco has not disputed it or claimed any other performance of which I am aware.

If you're repeating it, find the source and post a link, FFS. I want to believe a lot of what you say, but I agree with @jaredbusch here. It comes out like another scott-ism.

It only sounds that way because you think I don't have sources for all of my stuff.

You can always go look up Cisco performance, too, and see what it is.

But you're the person spouting something off as a fact, so provide the source!

This is correct, it is not our job to do research when you are the one claiming a fact. It is the reader's job to verify, but the reader cannot do that without the initial facts.

Yes, I know you already answered. Just closing my part of the conversation.

This entire season was so sloppy. If I weren't so invested I'd stop watching.

It's now a show with books written about it, rather than a show from books. That might be a big factor.

So they have an insane amount of references they can use instead of having to create the entire show from scratch? George R. R. Martin even gave them every major plot point. Wouldn't that make their job that much easier?

Who is "they" here? GRRM writes the show.

According to IMDB he's written 4 episodes and those were in early seasons.

As far as writing the screenplays, yeah. But my understanding is that he's still writing the actual show.

I'm pretty sure he is in a supervisory position at best.

All joking aside, I'm in need of transport, or even to Newark NJ's airport.

I may end up making the drive there myself. . . but if there is anyone who's planning to make either trip let me know.

where are you headed in Florida?

I'm not headed, I need a dog taken down the Pensacola

      That's south georgia haha

I've actually never been to the panhandle, but it is more like the rest of the south not really florida.

      Florida is somehow worse.

We have 3 very distinct regions. The climate goes from temperate, to sub-tropical to tropical Aks south Georgia, central Florida, and South Florida.

Most news stories come out of Central and South Florida. Oddly enough those are also the much nicer areas. It's pretty common to go from mansions to the ghetto in less than a mile. The last neighborhood I lived in before where I'm at now, our neighborhood was across the street from pretty bad housing. The housing complex had barbed wire like you'd see in a prison, but there were were across the street where houses were up to $500k.

Since there is so much water in most of Florida, bad areas are bound to be near water. Waterfront will of course always be expensive. So you have rich areas right next to really bad areas. In south Florida you can draw a line on a map and know what areas are good and what are bad. The just follow a certain distance to the coast.

      Skimmed entire thread because, WTF.

Seriously, what does the OS have to do with the choice of O365?

Obviously if you cannot run the desktop apps, then there is no reason to pay for a subscription that includes them, but that has nothing to do with the rest of the features of O365 or any other solution such as GStuite.

You buy the solution that fits your needs. O365 has many packages that give you features without the desktop applications.

I feel a disturbance in the force @JaredBusch posted on this thread without using that phrase.

And I want to keep repeating this... college has value. But this is certainly not it. Critical thinking is specifically one of the farthest things from what college does. College is far better at exposure to culture, making social connections, keeping people out of the workforce so that older workers can have lower unemployment and so forth. There is value, but it's mostly outside of education.

So this is what I'm thinking for lunch plans.

From the Hotel to the Geneese Brew House

Alternate route seems better. Out the side door on the 2nd floor and you're already at the bridge.

Still don't know if I can make it or not 😞

I'd recommend the primary route as you get a bit more of a scenic walk, you get to see the falls and you literally can't miss the brew house.
