Needless to say but stay clear of Comics Sans!! I've seen some resume that used Comics Sans and it went from "possible candidate" to "denied" bin within seconds.

ps. I hang out with my HR manager often. She's a cool HR lady. 😉

@thwr said in [The World's fastest ISPs & Mobile Networks 2015 as per speedtest.net](/topic/9456/the-world-s-fastest-isps-Germany sucks here, that's not my point. Average here is like 6-16 MBit/s with ADSL2 or 25 MBit/s with cable

That doesn't suck!!! Average for wales is about 2MB/s!!! if that! we still have connections that can only do 800K-900K

Yeah, probably a lot less than a year before LE rules the roost. Maybe four more months? In a year it will have significant dominance, I am guessing.

More likely about this time next year because they did not come out of beta until March

@BBigford said in TeslaCrypt shuts down and Releases Master Decryption Key:

I heard a lot people say that they gave it up to relieve some legal pressure. But you can't commit crimes then just apologize and wash your hands. You can't save face by admitting guilt in this case. You'd get in trouble by admitting you were at fault and release the keys.

I agree that this is just to make the old code completely useless. Want to keep using software? You're gonna be buying all new software. Bold move!

It often does receive legal pressure because the total loss to a company is not so large. Because civil suits require there to be a damages number, making the damages smaller greatly reduces the value of a lawsuit which in turn reduces the likelihood of someone pursuing one.

      I see it differently.

Every time one of these gets broken, it highlights how easily the governmental agencies can get into our personal data.

Who said its not the government (NSA) releasing these ransoms ware viruses?

Most companies won't even return or replace products with dead pixels. It's considered par for the course. Many require over 16 dead pixels for a return or replacement.

@Ambarishrh said in LAMP replication to DR site:

How about setup MySQL replication to remote site and then enable MySQLdump local backup on the DR site as well with increased frequency than daily ( may be twice a day). This way we have an up to date/latest copy and in case let's say there was a drop table command on master, and primary site failed, I can still switch to secondary, use the latest mysql backup to restore and make it up and running.

Yup, that's what I would do. Get HA and DR all in one setup. Have it take backups 24 times a day if you want. The impact is pretty much zero.
