I think this ruling leans more towards, "You'd better follow best practices with regards to private client information (which isn't it all private), and if you don't and are breached, regardless of the cause you'll be fined for said breach."

Which is all good. Because it is qualified with "you'd better follow best practices".

Yeah that didn't happen we had to go and pick up yet another consumer drive, this one at 4TB.

We're at least taking our backup now.

That's an odd answer - especially given they are apparently introducing a new system with Hylafax.

That is not an odd answer. They have an existing VM infrastructure. Normal business do not look to change core infrastructure every time they look at adding a new VM for some task or another.

Asking if there is any compatibility issues is a very normal thing that has to be done with ANY system.

Answer the question that was asked without tossing in craptastical bias.

Want to toss in the rest of your opinion? Great! Don't lead with it.

Back to the OP's question. I have never ran any type of 2008R2 Hyper-V servers. I know that Hyper-V prior to 2012 had many issues compared to ESXi. Which is why all of my clients started out on the virtualization path using VMWare.

You should, it is working great and only $19.99!

Of course, the Mac crashed completely only a few minutes into trying to use this on the LG. Probably unrelated, it crashed three times in the last two hours, only once while attached to the TV.

    Hi Scott-
Just found out about this site - thanks for the ioSafe mention. Perfect application btw. The ioSafe 214 now comes with drive options - all new loaded ioSafe NAS products contain WD Red Drives by default and have for several months now. We'll be working on updating the product description in the field over time. Also, all NAS units can be ordered with Enterprise Grade Drives as an option.

Redundant NICs are an option on the 1515+ but not the 214.

    Hope that helps!

How long has the RAID been sitting? RAID 1 should not take very long, even with large drives, to sync up.

And that they can't do it between those two points. They can certainly do it between the GUI and the encryption layer.

Having a generic monitoring agreement that you always have at the ready might be valuable.

The issue with the OP software model is.... what happens when your phone goes into the lake like mine did this week? Not only do I lose contact with those people, I lose a record of the communications, groups, lists, etc. Everything is stored on the phone. Now it is lost. There is no central server that can restore any of it, including the accepted person to person connections. I need to use another tool to reach each of those people again and set the whole thing up again. And anything sent to me that doesn't make it through reliably is just gone forever.

I might hate text messaging but when I get a replacement phone my contacts will come back, people, people who could reach me before can reach me again and the messages that I missed are pushed back to me again.

It's a part of Windows supplied by Microsoft. Rather like a role. I don't believe that it is included by default anymore and needs to be added.

Just to put it into the conversation here, Microsoft has a tool to convert your ESXi VM's to Hyper-V.

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Gg610672.aspx

Now I haven't used it, but it's at least looking into if you must V2V your VM's.

Are you at least able to run in LiveCD mode and get to a terminal?

If so what does " fdisk -l " show?

IIRC they have an offline installer you can download from their site. That way you skip the whole buggy deploy client process.

    what is IIRC ??

IIRC is a short hand writing of "If I Recall Correctly"
