MSPs can only purchase Platinum or Diamond I was told, and at a minimum of 101 seats @ MSRP -20%. So, a minimum spend of $2400 CDN for us and $3000 for the customer for their "recommended" tier (platinum).

Does the old adage apply here? "Gotta pay to play"...?

Well if you are approaching as an MSP, this is to be expected. You are assumed to be reselling the service. This is the only thing they allow to be resold.

You as the MSP buy 101 licenses and resell 10 each to a few clients at MSRP -5%.

There has never been a promise or timeline made for the mobile apps. Anyone expecting anything on that front is operating in their own little fantasy.

That's the main use case of softphones, though. Like 95% I would guess. Softphones for the desktop are way more niche.

I totally disagree. Softphone on the desktop is by far the largest user base thanks to call centers.

Softphone on mobile is a far second to that.

Maybe overall, but for FreePBX? FreePBX is pretty rare in call centers, AFAIK.

@manxam Well that worked out then 🙂

I did. We're not ones for forcing tech on clients but there's a limit to client risks that we're willing to live with.
This particular client deals with a LOT of sensitive data and it always bothered me that they had a known vulnerable router in place that we had to admin with a 5 year old version of Firefox.

In my case I wanted to kill sleep altogether.

@phlipelder said in Hyper-V Server 2016 guest licensing question:

The guests on an OEM licensed host can be moved to another host whether it's licensed OEM, VL, or Retail so long as the destination host is licensed to receive those guests.

That makes no sense. That's not moving it, that's buying it twice. Very different things.

That's like "can I move my house from here to there"? People mean take the same house and shift its location. Not buy a second house in the new location and give up the old one.

Searched the interwebs and, it appears, that Nextcloud's idea of a "preview" is, in fact, a thumbnail. Only PDF files will actually display a true "preview" when using the built-in PDF viewer app.

I guess this won't work. I was hoping for more 😞

On a related note, dealt with a client today that had pfSense running in front of their PBX. that was annnoying. There is no "SIP ALG" button, but you have to setup a static outbound NAT rule to fix it.

@JaredBusch : I just wanted to say THANKS for posting all of that FreePBX how-to info. With it I was able to procure a DID, setup an IVR, configure routes, etc. I even managed to configure an inbound route set to go to a DISA (pin protected) for the cell phones!

Your notes were very detailed and a ton of help.

      Again, thanks for posting that!
