It is definitely the best free WP backup I have found. I like the fact that it just zips the files so you aren't even dependent on Updraft Plus if you need to restore.

I used to use XFCE a lot, but the interface is just too lean for me. LXDE for me now when I need something lean and Cinnamon when I want a full desktop replacement. I find KDE just enough confusing and too "heavy" to learn to bother.

Yeah, KDE isn't my favorite, but everyone here was able to use it without having to retrain them, so it's what we went with. I was very glad I stuck to the "universal" desktop environments when making recommendations tho, makes life so much easier.

I hate that the Super (Windows) key is only a modifier. It's much easier and more familiar to hit that key and have the activities overview come up than alt+space or alt+f2 (whatever it actually is) for krunner.

DDoS depends on public addresses acting as a clients pounding your DNS server with thousands of recursive queries at once. If your DNS server isn't public, then it isn't a open resolver, and a client on the internet can't query it directly.

In our case, we have a local DNS server, available to the internet, as a backup to our ISP-hosted DNS. This server is typically vulnerable. But it's set with a higher cost so it won't be used unless ISP goes down.

This is usually my last concern. Because almost all Android tablets take MicroSD cards. Tablets are so cheap and become "outdated" so quickly. Especially tablets for under $100.

Fair enough - I'm using it as essentially a cheap laptop substitute to transfer data from uSD cards to bulk storage via USB OTG

If this is a project for you... and the uSD card is in an Anrdoid device, check out Xplore File Manager. You can share a folder from your PC and copy it over WiFi using that app. May be slower, but will be less of a hassle than having to shuffle SD cards around.
