Ran this, sudo apt install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

Not sure why they weren't installed or what happened but I have 4 monitors now.

I have tried different versions of NVIDIA Drivers and no luck.

Doesn't look like NVIDIA Drivers are loading.

      nvidia-smi
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

    • No Sound, no webcam and Only one monitor on Ubuntu 23.04 with NVIDIA graphics card

After a recent ubuntu update I only have one monitor (of 4) working. I have uninstalled and re-installed the NVIDA graphics drivers, disabled secure boot. I have tried both different versions of the NVIDIA graphics drivers as well as the Nouveau drivers. Nothing seems to work.

I have learned my lesson and won't buy NVIDA again, but for now, I have to work with what I have. Any ideas? It was working fine for quite a while.

When I go into Settings > Online Accounts > Google, I get to the prompt for email address, once in a while it stops accepting input there. But often I can get to the password screen. Once I do, I can't type anything or paste anything.

This is a fresh install of Ubuntu 23.04 and I have installed all updates.

@JaredBusch It is just amazing that the user control isn't adequate. This so easily COULD be a great product for MSP's, but their failure to develop (and even worse, they are removing features) that allow you to administer user control.

VHDX File is just gone... It's missing...
I found out that Windows Defender had detected it was (or had) a virus and quarantined it...

How Windows defender even would ever quarantine a VHDX is beyond me.

      Come on Microsoft!

That's odd. VHD/VHDX files are NOT ever scanned by the host, unless of course they are mounted in the same way as a disk or USB disk is to the host OS for example. Otherwise, they are treated like a black box. So something else had to have happened for it to be quarantined by the host OS. That doesn't just happen willy-nilly.

Additionally, VM files are automatically excluded when the Hyper-V server role is installed. So again, something isn't configured correctly or something weird is going on.

What happened to you isn't default behavior.

Not sure, we 'inherited' the server. We don't do HYPER-V any longer. Everything is KVM now. (Proxmox)

But it was for sure quarantiined. Funny thing is that Windows defender scan of the actual VM shows no virus... So weird.

    • Unifi cloud controller going the way of home office?

Unifi cloud controller user management has gone from bad to worse.

You used to be able to add super admins and they would have access to all sites.

Sadly to delete them you have to change them from a super admin to an admin and delete them from each site manually.

Now you can't even add a super admin. You have to add them site by site in the new Unifi UI.

We are currently looking for alternatives to Unifi as they have shown they aren't interested in working with MSP's... But who?

FFS this is not new. Tell your "client" that you will be happy to report them to Microsoft.

I put client in quotes because they are acting as their own IT. Why are they bothering to hire you.

      Report them to the BSA
      https://reporting.bsa.org/r/report/add.aspx?src=us&ln=en-us

BSA (from what I can see, doesn't cover Microsoft) but Microsoft has their direct reporting method.

But yes, he's become so toxic that we just can't deal with him as a 'client'. Way to many good clients out there to worry about instead of him.

      Use case:

Software is AVImark. A veterinary records managment program. It requires a shared network path and also to run Guardian (a service that runs on the server in order to make the program work.).

Is Windows 10 / 11 legal to use as a server in this case? (The software vendor AVImark) says it is.
