Your morning routine

Inspired by this site https://mymorningroutine.com/ what is your morning routine? I'm always staggered by how early Americans go to bed and get up, though I IT people tend to be evening people for some reason (I'm not).
I'm up with my alarm at 6am. A glass of water, a glass of orange juice, and my first mug of strong, black coffee. Then on my iPad I read the news and sport on The Guardian and catch up with overnight posts on ML, Facebook, plus a couple of football forums.
Shower and get dressed. Then my second mug of coffee with a piece of toast and marmalade - usually in the garden. The kids normally get up just as I'm getting ready to leave - they turn on the main telly and watch people playing Minecraft on YouTube (weird).
Off to work around 7.15 on my bike. Get to work at 7.30, catch-up on e-mails, sort out my to-do list on Trello, peruse any outstanding helpdesk tickets on Freshdesk. The first couple of hours at work are normally my most productive. By lunch-time I'm already running out of steam.
I'm sure some of those entries on https://mymorningroutine.com/ must be made up. There can't be that many people that spend their lives meditating, doing yoga, and drinking kale smoothies. There isn't a single routine on there that involves taking Alka Seltzer to recover from a raging hangover followed by a breakfast of donuts, which was mostly my routine until I had kids. That may be why I'm not a successful entrepeneur though!

Yes, Americans are often in bed when many Europeans would just be eating dinner. It's weird.

So what's your Scott? Being as you're pretty much half-European these days

Well it is pushing 3am and I'm still awake so....
I'm in bed around 2-3am and up around 8am.

I get up at 530a. Wonder why the hell I did not get to bed earlier, shower, pee and jump in the car by 6am. Get if it looks like I am gonna get to work at 730a, then I stop and grab a cup of tea and a small snack, it if look like it'll be closer to 8am, then I don't stop.
You'd think that I'd get to bed nice and early given the real f-ing early start, well that be the wise thing to do, however I usually get to bed around 10pm, sometime a lot later. I have never been, nor will I ever be, a morning person....

Going to bed now.

Interesting post.
I'm up at 5:45am. Start running bath, whilst that's running, jump on the cross-trainer in my back room (about 10 minutes). Then stop bath filling, get back on the cross-trainer for another 10 minutes. Then get in bath.
About 6:15, out of bath and get dressed etc. 6:30am -> 7am, mix of news, coffee, or Playstation 4.
7am, leave house and walk to train station 7:15 at train station, get coffee, maybe bacon, then on train at 7:25am. At work for 8:30am.
Work until 5pm, doing whatever comes up and projects that are ongoing.
Evenings are random, maybe go out for drinks in London, or home and cinema with gf.
Usually bed between 10:30pm - midnight. -
I am up at 5am: Make the husband breakfast and his lunch before he heads off to work. Then it's a shower for me, coffee and then Social Media Check ins for all my clients. I have my first client at 6am for an hour then I have breakfast. Then I check in here (today I am teaching her how to use Canva so here while I wait for her to figure out signing in) so I am early. Then brain dump for my day and prioritization of all I have to do. Then work all day. Days like today I have to leave the office by 3pm so that I can get to my client in the city and work there all evening. I will be working till 10pm today and then back home to bed to do it all again tomorrow.

My regular routine is up by 5-5:15am. At the gym by 5:30am-ish. Do my workout with enough time left over to get in 10-15 minutes of medium cardio. At work by 7am-ish (depends on traffic), take a shower there/dress, then start working by 7:30am latest. Meanwhile, I have a plant-based protein shake, an hour later something small to eat for breakfast, and have some long awaited coffee.
For the past few weeks and next few months... I'm still trying to figure out something that works. (away for 3 months) No regular routine here yet, but I do see light at the end of the tunnel.

TV, stay in bed for 5 minutes or so, brush teeth, get dressed, coffee, more morning news, leave for work.
-
I am not a morning person - so the morning routine is pretty much a long period of time fuming and wanting to go back to bed. I have never liked mornings, even during a period of time I don't acknowledge where I was required to do so...
Since working with NTG however, it's up and online (mostly) by 8am, coffee, poptart/begal/something to eat. And since I generally don't have a life outside the house - I'm here till 8pm and glance monitoring till 11-12 when I finally crash out.

I prepare my clothing (ironing or whatever needs to take place) and shower the night before. That way when I wake up I can just throw my clothes on, brush my hair and leave.
-
Why not be even more efficient and go to bed in your clothes?

I never feel clean if I shower the night before.
I get up as late as possible, shower, clothes, out the door, sit in traffic for an hour.

Same here. I have a friend who does and I argue with him constantly.
His take is that he can't stand sleeping dirty. I don't really care. I am usually asleep in seconds. Even if I am covered in sweat and suntan lotion.

I feel fine but I also sleep with the AC on full blast. It's like 60 degrees in my room at night. I barely sweat
-
@wirestyle22 Oh, I keep my room nice and cold for optimal sleeping, but I still feel dirty the next morning.

I thought I was extreme at 73 degrees.

I literally prefer freezing temps. I once woke up covered in snow that wasn't melting.
