Another thing I'll add to the list is:
Currently my company uses a group text to notify each other if they will not be in the office, etc. My boss was asking if there is a better way to deal with that specific problem in a centrally managed kind of way. I
m a little murky on this but I was thinking Rocket Chat? It functions similarly but is centrally managed. As in what, a group text goes directly to the people that need to know. Same as a group email. I know I wouldn't want my phone buzzing at whatever hour saying "out sick" via multiple channels.
He just said centrally managed. Accessible via mobile device. Everyone here has a smart phone, either samsung galaxy or iphone. I thought rocket Chat might fit the bill.

My boss asked me to try to find replacement for some of the software we use.
Ticketing: Connectwise
Opinion: Connectwise is way too convoluted. Getting anywhere takes too long. Customers don't want to use it at all. I was thinking we could use OSTicket but I wanted to ask anyway just to get your opinions.RMM: Solarwinds N-Central
Opinion: The one thing my boss will not part with.Accounting: Quickbooks
Opinion: I haven't really looks into anything for accounting so this is out of my wheelpark. They seem to be happy with QB, but I'm sure there is much better out there.Asset Management: Sort of Connectwise
Opinion: Snipe-IT?Sales & Marketing: Considering Salesforce but I have no experience here either. @BRRABill might know
Addition: Currently my company uses a group text to notify each other if they will not be in the office, etc. My boss was asking if there is a better way to deal with that specific problem in a centrally managed kind of way. I

I would create a topic per tool to avoid any derailing and to keep the discussion focused.

RMM: Atera (https://www.atera.com/)
There's somebody here that uses that one... Is it you, @JaredBusch ?
Yes, I use Atera. Works well for my needs.
HAs a lot more functionality than I have spent time to use though.
@JaredBusch How is the Atera agent in Linux desktops? Does it work as good as the Windows agent?

GLPI + FusionInventory could look after your ticketing and asset management
We're in the process of moving away from OSTicket, it's great for basic stuff but doesn't have much in the way of reporting out of the box.
RMM is sort of on commodo / Itarian... I don't use it much so I can't speak to how well it does or doesn't work.

Wave is awesome, but if you need to print checks then it's a no go.

I've been interested to see someone using that.

That killed us early on.

Same
Instead of trying it out we're going to spend $15000 on software licences

I know this thread is over a year old, but for group chat, there's Mattermost. If you get the GitLab integrated version, you can have LDAP authentication without paying for the premium version.

Ticketing - we are moving from HESK to Connectwise..
Not my choice, and I'm not involved.

We were evaluating it before I left the last company. It was between that and osTicket.

People are continually requesting it and they just say it's not on their roadmap. Oh well.

I wonder if they are sponsored by someone who won't allow it?
