Epic Road Trip!

So who will I be driving by?
What cool things should we do/see?
I need to build the Epic Road Trip Play List (classic rock, modern rock, metal and cheesy 80's only).
Here is our Route:
Leaving York, NY Sunday Morning
Reidsville, NC for dinner with Friends
Salisbury, NC Monday and maybe Tuesday (if you think you will only need 8 hours to do a job always plan for 16)
Then the EPIC part of the road trip:
We will get on Interstate 40 in Statesville, NC and be on it till Los Angeles.So far planning on (hoping to)
See Grand Canyon
Stop in Las Vegas for a night or 2
Spend a day at the Santa Monica Pier and beach areaThen Head back:
We will take Interstate 15 out of CA and getting on Interstate 70
Stopping in Indianapolis, IN to visit @scale and company.
Then on home on Interstate 70 up to Interstate 90.Hoping to be back home by May 24th.
Phew now I am tired just thinking about it.

A couple notes for road tripping from a former truck driver. Pilot stations have the best bathrooms (actual walls between stalls), and Petro stations are generally the largest, nicest, everything in one stop places. Also, Petro2 sucks.

If you've never done a Sheetz you may want to stop for a quick snack. Decent food at a decent price.

Buck-ees? Haven't heard of that one, but it's been a long time since I was on the road, and it was always in a semi, so I couldn't get to a lot of the more interesting places.

Buck-ees? Haven't heard of that one, but it's been a long time since I was on the road, and it was always in a semi, so I couldn't get to a lot of the more interesting places.
Pretty big in Texas. They have the biggest petrol stations in the state. They get downright enormous. Like, I'm guessing, more than fifty pumps. Smaller ones easily have thirty or more stalls in a restroom!

Well, 50 pumps isn't outrageous for a truck stop. But the size of the restrooms, geesh. The only larger restrooms I remember were 2 story affairs.

If you take I70 through CO then you get to see some pretty country. You'll be driving right past @Grey and not far from me and @Nic.
As for tunes, I prefer books or talks to just music. It engages my brain and helps me stay awake.
