Having never used an ATM in Europe, beyond the ATM fees - are their typically currency conversion fees?

My currency fee from my bank is 1% for any conversion ATM or otherwise (so I pay 1% if I pay for a restaurant with the debit card, for example.) But the ATM fees are zero compared to normally seeing roughly 3% in the US. So in absolute terms, I consistently see 1% in fees in Europe and in relative terms I see a 2% negative fee.

Ran into a snag today. When applying this update to a USG with a dynamic external IP, it works fine. But the moment you assign it a static IP it goes into a boot loop and removes the default gateway.

To get it back to a working state I had to hard reset the USG, re acquire and re setup.

I'll be posting to the USG boards shortly.

I've been getting a crazy amount of recruiters emailing me about Six Sigma. Was starting to get curious what all the fuss was about.

That's similar to asking for ten years experience on Windows 2016. Instant dust bin if they say things like that.

You mean you don't have 10 years of experience on server 2016 yet?!

Well I do, yeah. But you know, normal people.

I created a shared mailbox and then I manually added the contacts (there are only 14 of them) to it. This makes the contacts visible to any user with access to the shared mailbox. However, I also wanted to used these "shared" contacts in some distribution groups, which doesn't appear to be possible. 😞

On a related note, one of the best tools for cable labeling I've ever used. It has a mode to specifically print labels for cables that you wrap around and it is really slick. Runs on batteries too.

Between what you said and some information from @coliver I learned that the Meraki is not behind the Edge, but in fact there is a switch between each of the routers and the ISP, so they both have direct access to the internet. Information from a tech on site lead me to believe otherwise, which is why the config didn't make sense.

I said this repeatedly when looking at the configurations.

If you cannot ping it, likely you have another issue. Ping it from somewhere else and see if ICMP is working. It is most likely that there is a routing or firewall issue here.

Haven't gotten there yet. Have about 4 irons in the fire and really have to finish two before I move forward with the domain cutover. I can't do anything until July 5 anyway.

      No

Sadly, I do. Business office uses it, and that's a battle I'm not fighting. Intuit looks even worse from the inside.

Basically, don't let anything touch the quickbooks files outside of quickbooks. When the program closes it will ask if they want to make a backup every 2-3 days. Just have them put the backup somewhere accessible, and put VNC or something on the computer that they normally run it from.

@IRJ said in Upgrading to Windows 10 remotely:

I need to upgrade a Windows 7 PC to Windows 10 today. I would prefer to do everything remotely rather than going on site. Is there a way to automate everything? I have only done one previous Win10 upgrade.

I upgraded an entire office of 11 computers remotely. You can certainly do it.

      My process:

Make sure mahcines are up to date with Windows Updates Setup ScreenConnect access session Disable permission request for the access session groups Download the current upgrade version from the Media Creation tool to an ISO file Save ISO on a network share Backup users with Veeam Endpoint Backup to a NAS just in case Open ISO over the network share (or copy local both work, your choice) Run setup.exe follow the prompts, tell it not to check for updates, keep all files It will eventually go offline in ScreenConnect but once it finishes and comes back to the point where you can choose express settings, ScreenConnect will come online. Complete upgrade Profit

I shouldn't have any issues using VNC (It is on our network) then.

If the NC service properly loads, then yes, you should not have any problems.

I first tested this while I had physical access just in case...

Worst case scenario I can walk next door.

So, did they create a loopback on the unmanaged switch? I had a client do that once, brought down the whole network for about an hour until I found it.

Definitely considered myself lucky finding it inside an hour.

I would think that's the case as well.

Tried that, works like a charm. Even big videos (like 1.6 GB) are working flawlessy, so some streaming or downloading in chunks in the background I guess. Anyway, works well enough for the showcase.

      Thank you.
