@stacksofplates That looks like an excellent way of doing tasks like this. Having that kind of control and options with that few lines is great i think.

@scottalanmiller said in Anyone Using Collabora and NextCloud Behind NGinx?:

Not sure how I should have things configured. I believe that I followed all of the instructions properly, but it is not working and there are no really clear instructions for a dual server scenario. All of the official stuff lists single server and Apache.

The one thing I remember having issues with was that it wants to communicate over the same "channel" in between the Collabora and NextCloud servers, so if the external browser connection is https, then it's not happy and throws errors if the back end isn't communicating over https as well. Getting that https channel setup with the recommended Drupal container and instructions for that didn't seem to work, and was such a pain I gave up trying to get it fixed at the time.

Some important things to keep in perspective...

The average CEO is incompetent. The average business loses money and will go out of business. The average business that survives doesn't do well. The average IT person is incompetent. The average of any position, in any field, is incompetent.

Averages are quirky things. The average is crap. So that "most" companies and IT people are like this, shouldn't really make us upset or worried. No one worried about this stuff is average or looking to be average.

LMAO. So I am actually correct in constantly thinking that I am incompetent at my job and should technically be fired.

LOL. Assuming you are AVERAGE then you are incompetent and should NOT be fired because incompetence is all that is normally expected 😉

But like I have said elsewhere, if you are taking time to post on a professional forum, that already puts you above average. And as I said here, if you are worried about being average, that puts you above average.

None of us are average. That can make this harder, because we start to feel like the average is pretty good. But it's the average of a highly self-selected group. It's like trying to determine who well the average person would do in hand to hand combat by evaluating the results of Roman arena gladiator fights. The average gladiator is nothing like the average person, they've already self filtered heavily.

Well thanks. I do trey very very hard to make the wises choices with everything for work. I mean, I worked a decade in retail and hated it, and now I have an IT job where I'm in charge of an entire environment... it's a very massive learning opportunity and I've learned and done so much.. but yeah, there's a lot of times where I feel like I'm not qualified, at least until I learn and do the thing and succeed at it.

That's a different effect. IT is a HUGE field. No individual should ever feel like they have enough knowledge to do the job at any significant level. It's just not realistic. That's why, no matter how small a company is, they need a team of experts. IT is just too big. Most only need to work a few hours a year, but they are all needed. The best CIOs still hire consultants or in larger companies internal IT experts, for nearly every functional area.

Is there a better way to do this with whats included in freepbx or commercial modules? I was thinking just putting the script in cron and just have it run every so many hours. Then eventually making a form to add or modify the data.

What I would do is update your ivr3 to include the id and name from ivr_details and think of those as the unique key. Or add them to a separate cross reference table, however you want to handle it.

Then add logic to your system to fail and notify if there is a mismatch (aka someone changed it in FreePBX).

There is no way to do this in FreePBX itself.

Once you change the database, you will have to reload everything.

You can issue the fwconsole reload command from your script. That is the same as clicking the red "Apply Config" button.

@dave247 said in Anyone running SonicOS 6.5.0.2-8n?:

We run a SonicWall NSA 3600 where I work and I am staring to look into upgrading to the new 6.5 firmware (6.5.0.2-8n). I have heard of some issues with the last two updates, and wanted to get more input if anyone has any to give..

I am not, I am using the 6.2.9 on the production Sonicwalls we have. I would recommend to test it out if possible.

Unfortunately I can't realistically test it out. Even if I had an extra, non-production unit, I doubt I could effectively detect issues since production factors would not be present enough to fully test. I suppose I could just always roll back if necessary... but I think I will probably be waiting a few more releases.. that or just move to a different UTM all together..

@vhinzsanchez Containers are lighter and faster. And they are a type of virtual machine, Type-C virtualization. So things like performance and density alone are reasons that containers are popular.

I don't see IE going anywhere. We have all the same need for IE in the future that we have n the past. Sure now it is DevOps rather than Snowflake, we are using more tooling, but things are also more complex and bigger.

@wls-itguy said in VMWare vSphere 6.5 loses licensing:

Anyone else have this happen recently? I got Veeam backup failure notifications last night and this morning saying that the servers being backed up were disconnected. I connected to vCenter and Sho'Nuff two of my hosts were disconnected. When I tried to reconnect it said I didn't have licensing. It took a bit but I finally got them reconnected and relicensed.

Haven't provided enough information, but here's why ours get relicensed often...

If you're a VMware partner, you get access to their Enterprise Plus licensing. That's very expensive licensing that they just hand over. But it also means that we have to go through quarterly and reapply licensing; VMware sends it to us, and we replace it.

Can you provide some more information about your licensing level, etc?

    Essentials Plus.

Does the license actually disappear, or does it just show that it is not applied to any hosts but the license is still in the console?

Not applied to any hosts. But when I finally got into it I couldn’t assign them. It was like they were stuck. Had to reboot the center appliance and then I could assign and then I could reconnect.

Sounds like your VCSA is jacked up (you're using VCSA, right? Not vCenter on Windows...)

I've had plenty of issues with VCSA 6.0, but none really with VCSA 6.5... In either case, just rebuild the appliance to see if that is the issue. Takes like 15 minutes.

@JaredBusch I had no idea those adapters existed. I'll have to keep that in mind if I run in to a run where I can't pull the coax out while pulling a piece of Cat 6 behind it. Thanks for the link.

In this project most of the runs aren't too bad and they want to move the NVR anyways. If it's all IP based, that's no problem - the NVR only needs one network drop.
