I was able to get to the menu to reset my printer, but when I get on to the screen to select a language I get no response from the printer. Any help is appreciated. My printer is an Officejet 6500a.
In advance, thank you,
Mr. Wright.

Most phones for example support qr codes for ssid & pwd. There are many sites that can generate the right qr code for him to print out.

Hey Pete. I wish I knew you well enough to put you on my Christmas list. That idea was the BOMB! My bad for those who are not hip to that term. It was a great idea.
I also talked him into getting a Unifi Dream Router (UDR). With the UDR you don't need to buy extra gear. It's a 4 in one. It's a router, switch, AP and controller. There's another one called Unifi Dream Machine (UDM). It's a 3 in 1. It's a switch, AP and Controller. Both can create a captive portal / splash screen.
Here's a side by side comparison:
If anyone else has any cool ideas like Pete, please share. I'm open to learning and sharing information.
If anyone is interested, below are setup video of both products.

UDR - Router
UDM - Machine
In the mean time, MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
A company bought out another company and I was asked to assist in doing a Network Crossover that involves:
testing networks, server AD Migration...etc!
What do you think is reasonable to assist. I don't want to come off asking for too much, but at the same time I don't want to cut myself either. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance, |
Chris.
Can anyone help me with the title please. I f'got. Thank you in advance.
Matt why are you too crazy!! lol!!
I really do love all you guys! When you guys spoke about the compatibility mode I checked it and it was stuck on Vista. So I changed it to 7 and Whalaa! Thank you all for being on my team. I hope I'm smart enough in something to help you guys figure something out. Thank you so much.
I just want to come by and show my respects to a IT community that is not only top of the line intelligent, but a community that do not look down on others due to lack of knowledge, go out their way to help you, so down to earth, very passionate about what they know and are willing to encourage you as well as help you to become a better IT professional. I'm sure I speak for Mangolassi when I say:
What ever you learn on Mangolassi or in life...with kindness pass the knowledge on and make the world a better technical place.
Let's give three cheers for Mangolassi! May you last longer than Microsoft and Apple!

It also requires defining how the term "cloud" is meant to be used in this case. What is the overall goal?
That's a great question. A question I will present once I go in for the interview. Any other questions on this matter should I ask to avoid the rolling eye scenario? lol! I would like to be armed and ready to ask the appropriate questions to be able to lock down the direct steps needed to get the job done on time, with in budget and with less down time.
Well given that you will be interviewing in this case, I'll propose some ideas based on some assumptions that could be way off base.
They probably want to go to a completely "hosted" model. The most common approach here, still today, is colocation and VPN. NTG does this. We colocate enterprise servers (one of our datacenters is in Mississauga near you) that we then run VMware vSphere on and virtualize all of our servers. We then add an enterprise VPN (we used to use IPSec, then OpenVPN and finally settled on Pertino) that connects every user into the "hosted network."
With this model, we use traditional computing like Active Directory, SMB drive shares, RDP and any other LAN protocol and it all works right over the Pertino VPN network. We are able to manage our network like a traditional LAN while not being in a single office and having no on premises servers.
Are you saying that NTG provides or use this service? If it provide this IT service, why would I suggest yall? That's taking food off my table. lol! However, it it uses this service then your scenario would be a great foundation to learn from. I have to see how many employees there are. To gage how big their system may be. It's my understanding that they even have a sister company in Toronto. It's an Wine company. Holidays should be nice around there...cheers! lol!
I'm trying to update my flashplayer in Centos, but having some problems. Nevertheless, I stumbled upon this note. How many of you knew this:
NOTE: Adobe Flash Player 11.2 will be the last version to target Linux as a supported platform. Adobe will continue to provide security backports to Flash Player 11.2 for Linux.
If you don't know now you know (censored)!
I'm about to take on a challange for an old client of mine. He explained his network scenario to me and to be proactive I would like to get my Mentors input on how I should approach this scenario. I told him to get someone for a faster result, but he insist on giving me his business. I'm honored, but need to refresh on my Exchange knowledge.
Can or would anyone like to help me?
Here is the scenario:
No one can share their Calendar properly. They are all using
Office 365 via Outlook. Getting "Auto-Discovery Error," but
diagnostics shows that Auto Discovery is working properly.
N.B.: As a temporary fix, I've recommended that they use the
Web version of the Calendar, instead of using it in Outlook.
Additionally, they continue to use their local Exchange
2007 Svr to create new email address (to forward and relay emails
to and from the Cloud). Client wants to know if there's
another way for them to do this or if they will always need to
use that local Exchange Svr.
Hello everyone! Long time no talk to. I'm in a pickle, sort of. My colleague installed a new HD in a Dell Latitude 6420 and now the bitlocker is not able to resume protection. To rectify the issue, I went into the bios, activated the TPM and restarted. When that didn't work, I went back into the bios, cleared TPM to start fresh, restart...no go. I'm at a stand still. May I call on the Brain Power that be to help this humble man.
In advance, thank you so much,
Chris.
I'm in the same boat as the girl in the interview. However, I don't think my honesty is my weakness. My honesty only weed out those who can't handle the truth. In turn, points out those who are ok with living their life as a lie. I have my few friends I do have trained not to come to me with there problems if they don't really want to know the truth.
My girlfriend to this day, after x amount of years still have a problem with me being honest.
I may get myself in trouble saying this, but MOST woman likes their truth sugar coated. I don't have time to add sugar. If we are in danger, I don't have time to say...dear please duck. I'm going to say PUT YOUR DAYUM HEAD DOWN!! lol! As for the booty comment. Someone was right about that it's a cultural thing. Society are just now catching up with the African American community. We've always thought a big butt looks nice. As long as it don't continue to shake after you have stopped walking for 5mins. It can even have a couple of dimples. Butt, excuse the pun, if it has more dimples then the moon...it's an issue.
Now, if you must know, the rule of thumb for any female booty is:
No matter big or small, if it looks like an upside down heart you have a winner! If she's baggy in thongs, she may still be under age or God is punishing her. lol!
If a guy has that heart look...well lets just say he best not go to prison.
I'm Mr. Wright, that's my view on Butt-ology and I'm out!
@JasGot said in A LIFE AND FATHER'S ISSUES, NOT TECH:
@MrWright4hire
I feel for you. I am a father. But you have to understand, you were not clear or accurate in your post.Let me explain why I was suspect by your post.
This statement "Enclosed, please find the LINK that explains some of the issues I'm facing and what I would like to achieve globally." Is less than accurate in the first half and unclear/confusing in the second half. The link said LINK, not a verbose description of the link. The link goes to a shortened URL, one I did not recognize. "achieve globally"? I thought you were looking to advance your cause not ask for money.
I did not recognize your name.
I clicked on your profile link, and see that you have posts, reputation, and have been a member since 2014. This is good.
But then I looked at the URL in your profile
HTTP://WWW.WRIGHTIT.ORG
which of course doesn't work. It doesn't matter if this is a typo, or the faults of the BB software, in today's cyber attack age, careful internet users would never click that link from their daily driver.
So even though I have no reason to have ill feelings toward you, and as a father, I do feel for you; I was very suspect.
Your post link and profile URL lends itself to be possible spam/click bait.
So, no offense intended, I wish you well and success for your son.
I can honestly say, had I been given a more clear understand and been informed in advance you were looking for assistance to fund your cause, I would have contributed without hesitation. I may still choose to contribute, but all of this could have been avoided with clarity.
JasGot now that I read how you so eloquently explained you and others position on the matter, I do apologize. I also want to apologize to Mango. Although I was given the go ahead, It wasn't my intention to give them a bad impression of any of their members.
I had just finished court and despite of all what the judge said about how it's only right for me to be in my son's life, her lawyer still writing up motions that shows other wise. As much as I do need funds for a representative. I equally want to bring awareness to the cause. There are soo much pain in father groups on social media. Should I be blessed to get custody of my boy, I will not give up on trying to figure out a way to help future parents, better yet, the kids who miss their mommy or daddy due to some stupid ish. We have to do better for our baby's sake.
Once again to all, with the exeption of the idiots. I do apologize. I wasn't thinking clearly. I was focusing on savign my son, other hurt parent and possibly saving other kids.
Even though I'm leaving my post up, JasGot I hope you and the others can f'give me. I apologize for not seeing it you guys way.
I just d/l it. I'm going to set it up in my lab and give a feed back.
Now that I've been educated by my Guru and his peeps, I'm seriously considering the act of the video. LMBO!
Oh! And in case you would like to know the name of the group in this video...Ghetto Boys. lol!
P.S. @MattSpeller may I borrow that bat? lol!
See Scott, that's how smooth you guys are. Great job!
I'm looking for a career change still within the field of computers. DevOps was mentioned to me, however, I don't seem to get a clear answer as to what it really is. I understand what it do, but don't understand the qualification one needs to have to become a DevOps team member. I have a Network System Admin background. Will that do? Or do you need to know how to program? Any advice and or guidance is appreciated.
P.S. Hello to my Mangolassi family! Miss you all!
