ugh. we have a federal election coming up. we can choose between a wet sponge sitting in a bucket of lard or a discarded cigarette butt floating in a polluted creek.

Going to be cert based right? SSH will need to be open. That's one of the reasons I went with SaltStack, along with better performance.

got one voicemail from my boss telling me I gotta wake up for these.
Woke up for the 5 am call from the same site and it was fixed..

Uhm, people have to sleep at some point. You're not a 24/7/365 machine. Even when we're on call, between 10pm and 5:30am, we're off the hook. (Pun intended.)

one would think, everyone gets 24 phone support..
Maintenance ends at 10:00pm Saturdays..
I'm sure I'll get talked to about it today, and I'll use the only excuse I have.

The way it works , as it was explained to me : we get standby pay for a straight 8 hours, then every hour we work, we get paid 1.5 (as long as it's after 40)
