Today I learned not to cock up the DNS server during business hours, and also the importance of having a 2nd DC/DNS in the event of such cockery.
You get it un-cocked yet?
Oh yeah. The network adapter reset itself to DHCP, so I was able to finally track down its new IP and fix it. But it was kinda stressful for a bit.
"Reset it self..." I'm sensing a story here... or maybe an unplanned Windows update, lol.
The MS automated network fixy tool does more than I remember...
It fixy things that aren't needing fix'n.

oh? how does having a second one help? replication I assume would make that not overly helpful, unless you beat the replication timeframe (15 mins by default on a LAN I believe).

Awww - so you didn't DNS, you broke the host/VM itself.. got it.

Hosed the VM. A secondary one would have kicked in faster than I got it fixed. Also, if it was bare metal, it would have taken 1 reboot's time to fix.

Failed after an update? Iād double check SELinux if an update reset something are using Fedora or CentOS.

So tired of waiting ..........Yes... don't install with a GUI, then use PowerShell to automate Add Roles & Features.
