What Are You Doing Right Now

Just back in the office from a meeting.
-
Had a terminal go down, and they brought it in, I re-imaged it and put windows 10 on ( that's what I thought was practice) apparently site uses windows 7 , not 10... Which means there possibly will be issues.
Yay
-
Contacting @colocationamerica about getting my new home lab into a colo space.

LOL Yeah, Terminal crashed when it was rebooted. I threw an Image on it to get it back up.
No one told me It was windows 7 (All of the new terminals we get are windows 10.. not 7.. and these were some of the exact same style. I just went with what I knew) -

What hardware are you colo-ing?
A Dell R620. Single 550w power supply, 2x Xeon x5-5660 8-core, 96gb RAM, 4x Cruical MX-400 500GB SSD (my new home lab box.)

FFS fodder, but I must ask. Is having the single supply enough power for you to fully utilitize the hardware in that server? I know you can get 1U + an additional power plug for a fee with Colocation America.

Typically, yes. If you need two power supplies for things to work, then you don't have redundant power.

Yeah, it's been running just fine. I doubt it would run at 100% load 100% of the time, but it's my home lab. I'd be amazed if I could load it down enough. 230W cpu, 150W ram =380W leaving 170W for the rest of the system (assuming 100% load, which will never happen.)

Good tool. Mostly a clone of Wifi Analyzer, but newer interface and no adds, so better.

I thought its been out for a while. Maybe I just got the beta.
I used to use inSSIDer before they quit developing it. WIFIMan is definitely a better alternative than inSSIDer.

Did you show her the trade school article I posted and highlighted how much better off she'd be if she learns a trade. Rather than going to college.

That depends on the profession or career she's interested in, where, and when.

Just pulled the trigger and got Matomo for all my sites. It is set up so much better than Google Analytics.
