@Minion-Queen, 4 pm EST sounds great, thank you.
I removed the number (but copied it first)
We have worked with both on behalf of clients. Honestly you will have issues with your provider at some point big guns included. So make sure your support channel is good.
Vitelity: Their support documentation isn't the greatest. However their Support themselves is very responsive and knowlegeable. We have been able to solve most problems very quickly.
NexVortex: Constant Outages on the East Coast. 2-3 hours before you can get someone to answer the phone for support call, 4 days was the average for emails. Once you finally did get support you got someone reading a script that couldn't think their way out of a paper bag.
@g.jacobse
You can install steam and do that. Steam is a corporate approved gaming medium
Well also the argument comes in that why should I pay someone to work on a client's environment if you don't at least have some idea. I can't charge a client for a staff member to learn. Where do you fit your learning time in, if when you are at work you are..working?
There is always a little piece as an IT person that GOOGLE comes to the resuce but it can't give you the wisdom to know how to apply what you are seeing. Wisdom comes with doing.

@Minion-Queen A few questions:
- Why did you choose this co-lo facility (since there are a bunch of them in downtown LA)
- How much gear & how much space are you renting
- Rent per month
Colocation America actually reached out to us at NTG and is actually getting a full year for free from them. Cause they are AWESOME!
Scott can answer questions about the gear.
Working from home is awesome! But you need to remember to leave the house and walk away from work. Just because you work from home doesn't mean it should be your life. Family should always be number one in your life. Work can wait most of the time, really it can. We are in IT and tend to think just because there is more work to do at the end of the day that we should just keep going, unless there is an outage of course then you should.
Website is working. And AJ taught me how to do some of the updating myself. So I am at least out of panic mode now.
Systems. That is up to the person we are hiring. Some of my team just works from their own machines because they don't want a "work" desktop and a gaming one. One for everything is their choice. Some want to separate work from personal. Really up to each person. I work on my own personal desktop so that I can game and work at the same time if I want :P.
We do not use AD any longer as well it is dumb to pay for when we use Office365 for most everything or OwnCloud etc. We do provide desk phones and internet is not something we reimburse for.

This is a 16 year old company so not new on the block by any means....
They have 22 data centers in 8 Major citys. They have a major amount of people on their team both administrative, marketing and technical (believe me I have talked to MANY of them at this point). This is not a questionable company guys.
Well, that's good to know
Obviously, there's a lot more to it than we've seen publicly.Glad you have done research into them.
After this road trip is done. You will be able to get to know at least a few of the Colocation America team as they will have an actual presence here on the community.
Always ask tons of questions about heating costs. They will give you this random number that seems decent. But then you find out that is with keeping the house at 50 and having space heaters everywhere.
If you can't attend and would still like a shirt please let me know. I am ordering on Monday. Cost is $20 (includes shipping to the US). Sizes up Small -- 3x only. Women's shirts available as well Small -- XXL.
I did have to read the OP more than once cause HUH????
@FATeknollogee
That was the best Data Center location available to us, and after all who doesn't love a Road Trip?
I believe that this particular location is Colocation America's newest location. So we are pretty excited to be getting to visit it (ooo I need to see if I can get some pics while I am there).
So much to think about. Making plans for a Super Secret (for now) Mango Lassi day in May. Making lots of cool decisions for NTG and ML. This week has been an awesome week....
In other news we woke up to 2" of snow today. I am not happy. It was almost 80 in S.C. on Tuesday when I left!
Well I will share the Logo but that is it.
I have a unique perspective here since I have actually worked while pregnant etc. TALK TO A LAYWER!! They are trying to sweep something that I hope you have documented in writing and sweep it under the rug.
The maternity leave thing yeah they are threatening to do something they can't do... last minute to try and get rid of you. The whole entire things stinks and needs so legal intervention.
It can't hurt to just talk to a lawyer and see if there is anything they can do to help you.
This has been fixed. However I am never trying it again (still have a mark on my wrist). So I found a sucker, er um, person to use it instead, aka @scottalanmiller
I am very happy with my FitbitHR.
