Yes.

Usually I'd load out the servers with tons on storage but they just have 2 drive in each server and they're only 146gb 15K SAS drives ran in RAID1.

I'm assuming that's where Hyper-V is installed. FYI, this is a waste of 15K drives - the hypervisor is rarely in use from the drives once it's up and running.

Hyper-V is installed on the server nodes using Server 2012 Datacenter on 2 disks. All VMs are stored in 1 LUN on the SAN.

Sure, this is a typical setup.

I would think with hosting all VM's critical and not so critical in separate LUNS and hell across 2 separate SANs with replication.

We are a 24/7 operation and downtime is a huge no no.

If downtime is a no no, why separate the VMs?

So you don't have real HA anyhow? i.e. if either SAN fails, the VMs on the failed SAN are down.

So you have at least 2 SQL servers? One bare metal and one VM?

@scottalanmiller Figured I'd chime in on the home lab. I've found it essential in being competitive in the IT industry. I get the whole work/home life balance but I've always wanted to learn more & more. If you think that you have learned all you need to know in this industry, it's time to find a new field of work.

I understand how ADFS & Web Proxy servers work. I'm having an issue getting a standard SSL issued to work for the configuration of the ADFS and then the Web Proxy. I'm assuming I need to generate a CSR from the ADFS server at
a minimum of 2048.

How do I generate the CSR for the ADFS domain ss0.contoso.org?

Fully agree. I don't know many in the IT field that just clock out and leave. Especially in 1 man shops where uptime is your sole job no matter how many hours you put in.

Does anyone know if it is possible to restore the OS VMX without restoring the VMXs that contain the databases? I have multiple incremental and Fulls on Veeam I just need to see if it is possible without hosing the database drives hosting the mailbox DBs.

@scottalanmiller I was considering rolling them back to last night as a last-ditch scenario is all fails since it is on Veeam and I have a Full from last night.

Make sure the 2.4 channel width is set to 20MhZ & 5G is 20 or 40 MhZ

Wide channel widths will affect speed as well.
