Where the heck did you get a PDP 11? I mean I had one once, but really?
LMAO - it was where I worked,.. and it was in the very early 1990s.
Still, those were ancient by the 1990s.

RedHat Linux 4 Colgate 1996, even had original CD box :). At about same time tried Slackware, but I decided to stay with RH. At that time I volunteered at the university computer center where we had VAX/VMS host and couple of HP-UX workstations. We used RH as PPP server, Web and email server and students used it for shell access. Great days.
Slackware wow I remember that!
First setup was an early RedHat version of some type. Set up a server for some security software but no longer recall what. It was between 1998 and 2000 as I was working for ADT at the time.
After that I did not do much until the mid 2000's. Then I was always using CentOS 4/5. I tried a few various versions of Linux based operating systems and absolutely hated Ubuntu.
-
My first one was umm... Debian. I got it on CD from a magazine somewhere.
-
Corel Linux. Then I think RedHat 3 or 4, and Mandrake, I don't remember the version now.
-
Redhat no gui was my first exposure to linux. Shortly after, Suse.
-
I was about 20 at the time so around 1993-1994 and my first then was whatever red hat version it was up to by then, sorry don't remember more than that. Came in big book with cd i believe. wish i still had that book but ex girlfriend threw it away

RH wasn't even out then! RH 1 was 1995.

I think Slackware from a Walnut Creek cd that someone acquired. I did not do much with it though just tinkering at the time.

IRIX - SGI Equipment, 1996
1x Origin 2000 Server
4x 64-bit CPU,
1GB RAM,
8x300GB 15k SCSI HDDShould I be concerned that I still remember the server specs?
4x Octane Workstations
2x O2 Workstations
Finally, 4x Indigo2 Workstations
It was expensive, but man they made good looking kit!
