Still trying to deal with the pinched nerve in my back. Legs don't really work, so falling in the shower this morning was pretty shitty. And the medicine I'm taking makes my legs even more rubbery, but it takes away the "want to die" feeling I had before. Fuck you, 2020.
Sorry to hear, man. Is PT an option for you?
The neurologist referred me to a PT place, but they don't take my insurance. I'm going to look for somewhere that does. I still have to get 1 more MRI, then they're going to do a nerve conduction test, so I'm still not sure what my treatment options will be.
I know Duluth's a bit of a hike for you with traffic, but the last time I had to have PT for my ankle, I used Benchmark Physical Therapy. They likely have an office somewhere near you, and while I don't know their insurance acceptance, I can at least day the therapist I had with them was good.
Thanks for the info. Duluth isn't so far, it's closer than work. Do you happen to know a good acupuncturist? I want to use all the options available while I wait around for other tests and stuff.
Oof. I hope you find something that works for you! I take it a chiropractor can't help? I'm not sure where they draw the line between helping you, and okay go see a doctor.

I started with a chiropractor, he referred me to the neurologist. And he genuinely feels bad that he was unable to help more than he did (he's a great doctor).

Yikes! Hopefully something pans out soon!

Real busy already this morning. First day of classes. Faculty friends don't wear masks around each other. Students don't wear masks around each other when they are standing around. One teacher couldn't operate a projector, another couldn't operate a document camera, updated a couple users already, found a missing laptop that someone incorrectly put in storage, and checking laptop loaners that have come back in to make sure they are working correctly. whew!

Been doing new hire presentations for hours. On a break, finally.

Interviews and onboarding stuff today. New hires starting in the morning.
Is that a Sunday?
Yup, I easily worked a 20 hour weekend! Just wrapped up my last interview.
do your staff work weekends normally?
And @scottalanmiller if so do they get paid overtime?
Our teams are salaried.
Salaried exempt you mean.
Salary is a universal concept. Salaried exempt is an American one. The idea of non-exempt only exists in the US, so not just salaried.

tuesday morning.
work is like a ghost town, no emails, no messages. working from home, it's like they've all just upped and left. it's been like this for months, no contact, just the occasional email.
my wife got rung up & offered some work, so i'm nuking a fedora laptop & banging windows 10 on it.
but hang on, she'll only work in web based stuff, think i'll ubuntu it.
problem solved. -
hope everyone's holding their stuff together, i'm a bit flakey so far this week.
looks like a picked the wrong week to switch beer brands.

Which Desktop Environment are you using?
How's the startup and shutdown? -
@black3dynamite Gnome. Startup is a few seconds once the motherboard info is done displaying. I'm going to get spoiled and want a new laptop now. This was on a new desktop with an i3 and 16g ram. Nothing special but still impressed at the speed. My first nvme drive. Blows msata out of the water. Crazy difference when you are directly on the PCI bus.
-
Does anyone use --assume-clean when building a new R10 in mdadm? I have often wondered if there is ever a time you would have it "skip" the initial sync on a new R10 array...

How's the startup and shutdown?KDE for a few minutes, and now Gnome. Startup and shutdown are fine. Still a shade slower than Pop_OS, but acceptable.

got my Jocko Pom'r in Sunday afternoon: sipping on one of those (https://originmaine.com/nutrition/jocko-discipline-go-drink-pomr-pack-of-12/) and a cup of coffee.
Found these due to the JockoPodcast ( https://jockopodcast.com/); Side note: Great story telling, and leadership principles if anyone is looking for something new to listen to: Fair warning its about war leadership but the principles can translate to anything.Tuesday Morning: Email purge , Energy Drink, Coffee, getting ready for the day.
