Anybody know how to fix the Windows 10 bug that makes it not connect to an L2TP VPN? I found a registry fix and tons of other suggestions, none have worked.
What's the Windows 10 bug that makes it not work with L2TP?
L2TP VPN works fine with my Windows 10 machine to my EdgeRouter X.W10 v1903 killed my VPN. v1909 works fine.

got an email from my ISP.
they are removing download limits between 0600 - 1800
allowing upgrades of 12/1 DSL and NBN accounts before contract expiry
to help people work from home. Our largest telco told 20,000 of their workers to work from home starting yesterday. I wonder how their remote access infrastructure held up?

Maybe that's why have haven't experienced any issues because I'm using version 1909.

I'm on 1909, patches all up to date, still no love. But from what I read, it's been an issue since 1809.

I have an issue with our VPN software that's not happening to everyone.
It just fails to connect, and it has done so since (I think) 1803 was released.I am only guessing but I feel that it's related to the version of Windows 10 being a home edition.
Wild guess, I know, but that's all I can put it down to.One solution that we found was to use the Windows Store app from the vendor.

Delete any pre-existing VPN connections and recreate them.
I've setup W10 Home that had 1903, would not work. It updated to 1909 and it worked with no further modification to the VPN settings.

listening to Result of Choice while creating remote access for users who won't remember how to use it as soon as they have to.
I could create some very simple doc for them to follow, but who reads shit and who remembers where you put it anyway!

ok, just confirmed that it's not limited to the Home edition. I just had a user wander in with their laptop and it's Win10 1803 EDU.

We don't hawk their crap here. They are proven lairs and scammers.

Keeping an eye on our connections with all of the folks working from home. Thank god we've been a VDI setup for years. Our biggest challenge right now is that there are lots of people that don't have real computers anymore (just phones, iPads etc) so we've been rounding up any and all laptops to lend them out.

Not only do I use pretty screenshots but I also put red boxes around areas they need to pay attention to and arrows for where to go next. Greenshot makes it super easy.

I have done this multiple times, and the laptop I'm working on was a fresh install of 1909. I guess I need to inspect the settings on the one laptop that actually can connect, but that guy isn't here today.
