Getting to and from work is your own business. I would get paid if the traffic jam happens on a business trip. Guess it's the same in the US.

You're kidding right? Almost no business will pay for this time, where you live in comparison to where you work is on you, not the employer.
Uncle SAM also says you can't claim this mileage on your taxes either, it's simply a cost of getting to work, just like work clothes aren't normally a write off either. -

Oh yeah. The network adapter reset itself to DHCP, so I was able to finally track down its new IP and fix it. But it was kinda stressful for a bit.
