What Are You Doing Right Now

Doing my annual song and dance with Comcast trying to keep my home bill down. Nearly doubled this time after the promotion I was on expired. Hopefully, I'll have continued success hopping on promotions to keep it low.

Coffee and looks like I'm going to be on the phone all day with the new software vendor trying to get access to our lab and higher levels of access to start building stores.
Happy Monday everyone. -
Just finished setting up two conference room phones. The rooms were built without any Ethernet to plug into. . . kind of hard to get POE over wireless!!
But it's all good now.

Even without knowing anything about the situation, I can already hear the conversation in my head:
User: But it's all wireless, why do we need any wire at all?
IT: FFSBut it's all good now.

Just made the coffee, hoping to step outside for a minute and enjoy a cup.

You just made the classic mistake... You told everybody what you wanted to do... and now we all sit back and watch for the explosion. lol.

Speaking of which, should be receiving my new Unifi nanoHD's today to replace the old AP LR (non-AC).

The salesmen that represent you, or the salesmen that represent the vendors?

My guess is you are a reseller of one and not the other, so no way to convince them.

He's asking for advice on AP's for our IPad based software now to anybody who can give him information.
I gave him the information. -

Not to a sales person. What does performance, cost, quality... matter to them? Use some empathy. Sales people care about two things...
- Can they sell it?
- Margin
That's it. You didn't mention anything that they'd care about. Use empathy, "sell" it to them in their terms.

You have salesmen. They sell things. Presumably you resell Meraki equipment today. Anyone can get a Meraki reseller license. Ubiquiti is nearly impossible to get a reseller license for.
I'm not sure where you are confused. If they are salesmen selling things, don't they sell something?

Do you guys sell Cisco/Meraki directly to your customers? It doesn't make any sense to even consider them unless there are existing ties.

Exactly, how did they come up in conversation for selling, if they aren't an option to sell?
-
Since before I started we've been using Cisco everything, So probably only use Cisco.
the sales man brought them up because that's what Software vendor suggests we use for that.
