@dafyre Days like make me feel that I must have to do all that stuff for some hyper galactic reason, maybe to root me back into the real world somehow, I dunno.
At least it's all over now, roll on Saturday.Almost... Tomorrow is Friday for me.

@dafyre Damn
Ha ha ha. That's kinda the way I felt when it all piled up like that. For once, though, we had something unexpected come up and the bank didn't laugh at me when I paid for it.

@dafyre wow man im sorry you had such a bad day. that really sucks. at least the wife was ok and kid did get dropped off though.
Yeah. It could definitely have been worse. The worst part of the whole ordeal aside from my wallet screaming in pain was trying to figure out what kind of an idiot I was to not be able to get the tire off, lol.
-
running up 2019 VMs everywhere. why do I always feel that I need to create new servers on fridays??

This will sound super-n00bish, but oh well.
$args
in PowerShell has changed my life. That is all. Continue with your regularly scheduled ML trolling, lurking, and posting. How so?
I really only ever used it to check for extra arguments/parameters in my functions / scripts to output an error if the
$args.count
is higher than it should be, for example. What are you using it for?
I'm working on a script right now that will make use of
start-job
and using$args
lets me pass the value of a variable between scopes. In this case, I'd be passing a value from earlier in the script into thestart-job
scriptblock.Man, it took me forever to figure out how to do something similar!
You could just set the
-scope
of the variable to global...I've never used
-scope
when defining a variable. I'll have to try that out.Me either, lol. Time to research that tip.
That's if you use the
Set-Variable
cmdlet, where you would use-Scope
.You can also use
$<scope>:variable
. For example:$script:userName = "john.smith"
$global:userName = "john.smith"

Guess they really don't care, and aren't afraid to let everyone know they don't.
