Checking email after lunch, saw this. @JaredBusch debunked that "Only $180/month" deal at MangoCon!
But they only service podunk-ass, backwoods areas.
Gee thanks. Not that I'm not planning on moving sometime next year
Where are you? A quick glance showed me a bunch of small towns in AL, GA, SC, and TN.

I sometimes forget that Ohio has lots of ... um... rural areas.
And PA.
Philly .... 5 hours of rural ... Pittsburgh.
Ahhh, Pennsyl-tucky.
Full of guns and religion, as President Obama would say.
A wonderful team, don't you think? Crusades, proselytizing and what not coming to mind
Guns and religion shouldn't mix. I only combine guns with ammunition.

@BRRABill So in NJ, or still in PA?
PA.
I live in Yardley, which is right across the river from Trenton, NJ. Literally 2 houses from the Delaware.

Late here, good night ML
-
Sitting at 585 waiting for The Fallen to finish setting up for a mid week (windy gig). I am going to be freezing by the time they are done
-
Reading about kickstart and preseed files

Ah ok. I'm about 2 hours west near Lancaster.

I am familiar with that area. Am out there occasionally for stuff.
You anywhere hear the Iron Hill Brewery there? Or Lancaster Brewing Company?
-
I'm about 15 from those places. They are both "inner city" and I'm on the outskirts. Both great places. There are a lot of micro-pubs in this area.

Outdoor gig? Those are always an adventure. We played on a side stage at a festival once that was sinking into the soft, wet mud on one side. We nearly rocked all our gear off the damn thing. The tall bass stack was teetering.

This is at least up on a nice deck.

Rarely thought about - but does the venue / band carry insurance on the equipment should something happen while on set?
-
@gjacobse almost certainly cheaper to just replace stuff when that happens.
-
@Minion-Queen Looks like the same sort of setup a local restaurant has.

I've never seen a musician with insurance on their gear. Not feasible usually (unless you like touring around with $20k vintage guitars and the like).

No doubt, especially since we probably had 6-7 folks on the tiny stage. But we would have never stopped playing, all the way down into the mud... that was one of our best performances ever. Made lots of new fans that day.
edit - pics. doesn't really show how rickety the stage was.

Actually the sound guy has everything insured. But the band doesn't too expensive.

Well the person who runs the whole office for the employer who contracts me and everyone else had his computer going crazy. Spent all day yesterday and half of today getting it re-imaged and set back up. It's not perfect, as there were things that we couldn't resolve, due to time constraints (he lives in Canada and wanted to head home and is going onsite to meet with a potential client all next week) and I got to play the hero. It was a good day overall...

Trying to figure out if using curl for API calls to Graylog is lazy and I should try to do it another way or not.
(my programming skills are awful).

The "spend lots of money because I spent lots of money" in this thread is insane. SO much bad advice:
Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have responded to that thread.
Wow that last person is recommending VDI? I must be reading that wrong.
