To further clarify as I believe the meaning may have been lost in my phrasing (I apologize), the error you're receiving on boot indicates that SELinux was for some reason disable improperly (ie. not with the config files -- If the kernel looks for SELinux but it is gone, it will cause kernel or init halts, or even full-blown kernel panics.

Not sure how it would get disabled or changed without using the config files?

Yeah, this is pretty nuts that so much time has passed already...

Most of the malware comes from people installing apps not from the Play Store or using a rooted phone. The same risk exists using a jailbroken iPhone.

Why not? Or to put it another way, what are the risks to using HTTPS? How does it fail?

It can only fail if two conditions are met. DNS poisting to move the website, however this would have to be a new website you've never visited before because CA's will not issues the cert for a domain to someone else. Which means the same vulnerability exists when using your home connections. It must be a trusted/known site and be HTTPS.

I know Lavabit closed it's doors a year or so ago because they rather close than continue to give access to government subpoenas.
