Came in this morning to an internet outage. ISP updated the firmware on their equipment, didn't backup the config, rebooted it. It came up with an old scope that we don't use and our firewall was all confused because of it.
Only half a day gone. . . . .
See, those pesky ISPs go down, but I bet your VOIP servers were okay

IDK about that's it is MS after all. . .

What's worse is the ISP didn't tell us that they were making any changes to our equipment at all. It's fine if you want to update stuff, but first take a backup and second confirm with the customer!

Meeting with the New GM today. The sales man told me I have a chance to move up in the company here.
We'll see how things go.The SALES man said.... haha.
I'm sure the sales person is one of the highest people at his location... which is just sad.

If the hardware suffices and there aren't any gains to be had then use it.
My comment was about you working on a 2000 year old laptop aka a stone slab

D&D night.

Just took a call from someone complaining about computer not getting them logged in. Smartctl reports 4.6 billion seek errors and 99 million raw_read_error_rate. I don't know how the computer got booted up in the first place! That HDD is the little engine that could for now.

a total lack of punctuation makes this a challenging sentence to understand. Are you calling the laptops 2000 years old? or are you saying you have 2000 laptops that are 1 year old, that currently have Win7, and you're upgrading them to Win10?

It's complicated -
however Sales is commission so you might be right. -

how would it not?
You said you're sure he's the highest paid in the company - It's 100% commission based.
So how hard he works is how much money he makes. So you'd be correct on the assumption he makes more than everyone else here - because his income is based on commission - -

-
Depending on the company, Sales persons can make more than the CEO and other top positions in the company, but that definitely doesn't mean they are in charge.
The only people we really care about in these discussions is the person in charge, not who makes the most money.

Yeah, I've seen a couple showing stats like that recently. Amazing that the HDD is still allowing anything to happen. Being that is also a Windows 7 box, I'm saying replace it, now.

It's been one crazy week. Waiting for the kids to wake up so that we can contemplate "breakfast".
