@Jason I don't know about the rest, but this is my consumer connection at home.
I thought this was in IT discussions not water cooler haha
Welcome to ML, where any topic can be the water cooler if we digress hard enough
Edited topic to reflect intent

That IS Jason's house connection!!
That would be nice. Using that much of my income for Internet would not be cool though.

I'd be pretty thrilled to have a 20/5 connection these days.

My down speeds are as high as 18Mb/s where I am. I'm on a shared connection for a large complex, though. So my speed really varies. I get to get about 5Mb/s on a good day. But it is "free" so the cost to performance ratio is good, I suppose.

i think i'm on a 100/20 or 25 at the house. 300 gig soft limit. can't exceed 300 4 months in a row or something. never have any problems with that. it's included with our cable. we pay 175 or so a month for internet, cable(pretty much everything), and VoIP that we dont use.

eh? that's roughly what I pay for internet where I am?
$95 for 150/20
Dustin is paying a little more, but I'm not sure I actually get what I'm rated for either.

100/5, Cable Modem
300GB Cap
$55/month, 1yr contract
Cable One -
300GB cap? Man, I've blown past that in two weeks on a 5Mb/s connection!
-
Northern California, US
75/5, VDSL2
250GB Cap (though there are reports that it's currently not enforced)
$42/mo (will be $87 after the promotion is up though)
AT&T U-verseI will give AT&T a little credit: unlike their ADSL service, I regularly see download speeds in the 80-85 Mbps range.
I will be calling them about the non-promotional rate, though. Looks like it expires for me in 8 days.

Yeah I don't think the internet is overpriced, I'm still waiting on greenlight networks to build out my neighborhood. . . which will drop my internet with their 100/50 service at $75.
Or the 1GbE / 100 at $100 a month.
