That list feels like it is way, way too centered around ERP and CRM systems. Are those really the stand outs in the open source realm? It seems unlikely.

OpenDaylight is a really important but not well understood project. Interesting stuff, though.

It's going to take virtualization to a whole new level and redefine how we approach traditional networking. Pertino is a trailblazer with this tech. Can't wait to see what else this project has in store.

Yeah - it's when I'm switched to another app that it shows, but it is still annoying 🙂

iOS 8.0.2 seems to be good. Several of us have tested it.

Well, windows can be a bit of a dog. Windows 9 is from such a mixed background, it going to have an identity crisis. It seems to be random parts of other OS's slapped together. However, in saying that, no one will really know until the official announcement event comes around when there will be better information.

It may lose mongrel status but Microsoft have to be 100% sure of their direction AND stick to it

Hard to really be easier than the SysV system. All that was was running through a list of commands alphabetically. About as basic as it gets.

GroupWise is still around but now free, I believe. Novell also makes Filr, iPrint, ZENworks, Vibe, Service Desk and OES still exists. It was OES that directly replaced Netware.

@JaredBusch Your explanation is perfect. Pricing is fine for small business today and your customers aren't using the apps so you don't want to pay for them. That's exactly what we're doing. Increasing pricing for businesses that consume apps.

When we launched the original pricing we were solving entirely different challenges than we are today. Anything "more advanced" required some creative minds (like SAM with the original AD integration). Now we're providing those for businesses that need them.

The App Store is actually great. It is the poor alternative on windows and android that I found to be the turnoff.

I'm surprised iOS doesn't have this built in yet. As Macbooks already do this under the Battery Menu. However on mobile OS people that run those Battery Doctor (and the more popular Advanced Task Killer) type apps end up getting less life out of the battery. Many apps take so little battery running in a suspended state in the background that fully closing them multiple times means the processing to get it going multiple times a day again would use more power..
