      Here is Firefox headless mode:
Firefox uses the same browser, just run with the headless switch. Works from version 57 and newer.

Thanks. I won't be able to use this with brightsign, but it might work if I have to run windows for a site that I can't view a public dashboard.

If the site relies on dynamic data then scraping it likely won't help.
Does the page you need to download have to update or just display static information?

Something like PhantomJS may help as it can extract the DOM or create a screenshot of exactly what is displayed on a site rather than relying on data from websockets etc.

Yeah. Seems to be the case. I just talked with the department manager that needs the dashboard. She said that nothing on it is confidential, so we can publish to public, which won't require a login.

There are some custom dashboards we have being developed (going to be ready soon) to display amazon seller central data and this may come up again for that, as they want to be able to have them on displays.

      Downloading full Website offline
      https://www.mangolassi.it/topic/18801/downloading-full-website-offline

Thanks. I tried the command -

      wget -mkEpnp https://app.smartsheet.com/b/publish?EQBCT=9772cc64df854381b702905a1ff574fc

I got another html file and it loads a smartsheet screen and says it is trying to connect to smartsheet and has an animated progress bar. Then this pops up. I guess this won't work.

    • Wget - Download a Web Dashboard For Local Viewing?

I need to figure out a way to download a dashboard from smartsheet.com and have it available on my local network for viewing from a digital signage browser.

I have been playing with wget to download the files from the link, but am not sure it is working the way I need it.

I used this command to download it-

      wget --execute="robots = off" --mirror -p --convert-links https://app.smartsheet.com/b/publish?EQBCT=9772cc64df854381b702905a1ff574fc

It downloads the directories and I end up with one html file, called blank.html. You guessed it, this file is a blank white page.

Here is a tree of the files/directories that are created when it is run-

If this isn't the best way to accomplish the goal, what would you do?

@Pete-S said in Digital Signage - Display HTML5 Page That Requires a Login:

You could probably make a script with curl that will login to smartsheet every 5 minutes or whatever, downloads the html5 dashboard page and save it somewhere. Then your media player can access the saved data.

As @Romo said, login details are not sent in the URL.

Yeah. I was thinking it was a long shot. I have been trying to figure out ways to create a local dashboard or similar to what you were saying that does that, or pulls info via an API and then the signage player connects to that, sans login.

    • Digital Signage - Display HTML5 Page That Requires a Login

I am setting up a BrightSign media player (XT244) to access various HTML5 dashboards. I have it working fine when accessing a FileMaker webdirect page that does not require a login. However, there isn't any inherent method for accessing a page that requires a login.

Currently, I want to access a smartsheet.com dashboard that requires a login, but am not sure how to configure this.

Does anyone know if there is a way to add credentials to a URL for smartsheet or other sites?

    • RE: How long does it take for clients to resolve new IP from DNS on LAN?

You can use powershell to flush the DNS of remote systems.

      Invoke-Command -script {Clear-DnsClientCache} -ComputerName Server01

If you have access to the DNS servers, you can try clearing the cache of each server.

@Dashrender That is a weird issue. Is it on multiple models of hardware? Wondering if it could be display drivers.

yes, it's on a two different laptops and a desktop.

      Lenovo laptop
      HP laptop
      HP desktop

What if you create a new windows profile? Does it happen then? Or remove the printer and add it again?

Have not seen that one. What factors led to choosing it? Which others did you look into?

I wasn't really too involved with the reasons. But, I am pretty sure that it has a lot of integrations with various channels.

I'd be interested in this also. We tried a couple of solutions, including MS Power BI. Domo is what TPTB decided we will be going to, when we have the budget.

      Scenario 1

You need to install O365 on that machine using the shared option. Forget the name atm, not at a PC.

What happens is when they log on to the computer, office asks them to log in.

They'll need to have their own login for that computer.

Technically, doing it this way is the only allowed way to do it. You must specifically install the shared version of office.

      Edit: found the link
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/overview-of-shared-computer-activation-for-office-365-proplus

I have read that, and the shared activation is for proplus. We have business premium. So, we would have to assign users with proplus licensing. However, a chat with MS last night yielded no solution. Sure, you can use proplus to do this, but what about if you have those same users that have office 365 mailboxes/exchange online with business premium? They couldn't answer that.

I read that MS has expanded the selections that can do shared activation somewhere. I want to say that happened in April? Here we go MS blog about the change.

That is Microsoft 365 Business, not Office 365

"Copy Mode is an additional policy you can set against the Capacity Tier extent of the Scale Out Backup Repository (SOBR), which is backed by an Object Storage repository. Once selected, any backup files that are created as part of any standard backup or backup copy job will be copied to the Capacity Tier. This fully satisfies the 3-2-1 rule of backup, which asks for one full copy of your data off site."

Thanks, but the domain seems to have been registered for quite awhile prior to us forming this brand. It is just a lack of due diligence or caring by marketing and management from the get go.
