I’ve used an EdgeRouter X with a POE injector to power it because there was no power at the halfway point. If you have a spare injector from one of their access points or need to install on where the switch sits in the middle the EdgeRouter X has pass through POE on the last port.

RE: Ring Time For Find Me Follow Me W/ Call Confirmation
@JaredBusch - Yeah the only reason for the confirm setting was to avoid any calls going to the callee's cell phone voicemail. I would prefer to eliminate it but what if the person's cell phone is off. Then it is always going straight to their cell voicemail which I want to avoid.
@aaronstuder - I think the combination of the confirm call and the announcement "please wait while we connect you" is the way to go.

Ring Time For Find Me Follow Me W/ Call Confirmation
Just curious how long do you set your ring times when you have find me/follow me forward to a cell phone with the confirmation setting enabled? I feel like I need to set it for 45 seconds to give the person receiving the call enough time to answer the call, listen to the instructions, then press 1 to answer the call. However, for the caller this is obviously a long time and will most likely hang up if the call takes that long to get to voicemail. If I shorten to the ring time the call gets disconnected some times before the receiver of the call can answer it.

We pay per email outbound now.
They have outbound in some of their plans too. Like I said, sign up as a reseller even if the plan isn’t to resell. You get way more under that plan.

SpamHero has been pretty solid for us. I have a reseller account because it allows me to keep track on my client's accounts and you also get individual quarantines for all users without the extra monthly fee ($1/user/month).
how do they track the users?
They don't track users unless you want individual quarantines. If you go off their non reseller options, then it is 100,000 emails per month for $5. You pay another $5 for an additional 100,000 emails. However, if you pay for individual quarantines you get additional emails as well.
The reseller account gives you the individual quarantines for free but no the additional emails. You still get 100,000 but then have to pay for overages.

I bet @scottalanmiller would know. He uses Zimbra
I do, but not Z-Push. We aren't a Microsoft shop and don't touch Outlook, so not a feature we care about.
@scottalanmiller so on your straight up Zimbra installs how are you connecting mobile devices? Are you just using imap, cal dav, and card dav?

RE: Anyone using Zimbra with Z-Push
To be clear I know Zimbra is a solid solution. Z-Push is more the concern.

Anyone using Zimbra with Z-Push
I was just curious if anyone is using Zimbra with Z-Push. I have been playing around with it for a while now and it seems to be ok. Just wondering what issues you have run into or if it should not be used in production.
Thanks

RE: Yealink T46S Voicemail Icon Disappears Randomly
@JaredBusch - The Endpoint Manager has it Enabled. I set it as disabled to match your settings to see if that fixes it. I will report back later with the results. As always thank you for your assistance.

I typically run the Office removal tool on all new computers. Seems to clear out all the included installs.

Yealink T46S Voicemail Icon Disappears Randomly
Does anyone else have this issue on the T46S phones? I am not sure if this is a setting, a bug, or a config setting from the Endpoint Manager. The icon displays on the phone when the person has a voicemail but then disappears randomly. Sometimes after 20 minutes, sometimes after a couple hours.
-The phones are running the latest firmware pushed down by the FreePBX Endpoint Manager.
-No the users are not checking the voicemail. They are still new voicemails so I would assume the icon should stay until they are checked.
-The icon does sometimes come back over an extended period of time. This is what is upsetting the user because they are unaware they have a new voicemail and then when the icon comes up they find out the message was from 4 hours ago.The server is running FreePBX 14 hosted on Vultr. The system is fully up to date. The issue has been happening for a couple weeks now or at least has been noticed for a couple weeks. More than one user has pointed this out.
Anyways, just curious if anyone else has come across this issue or if there is setting I am unaware of that only displays the notification for a certain amount of time.
Thanks

RE: Backblaze for Windows Server
@bigbear - Duplicati is a free option for backing up to B2. I have not personally used it with B2 but seems to be very flexible with various storage platforms.

RE: ZeroTier / Software VPN question
Just another note with ZeroTier. On your Windows clients make sure you change the ZeroTier One Service Recovery options to restart the service on failures. Sometimes on Windows 10 it doesn't start when the computer boots up so the recovery option will hopefully restart the service if needed.

RE: ZeroTier / Software VPN question
@joel - I was able to make this work in a lab setting.
Here is what I did:
- Install ZeroTier on a Linux box or vm in your office. You don't have to install ZT on your Windows Servers as the Linux system is going to act as Bridge to the entire local network.
- Setup your ZeroTier network to handout IP addresses in the same subnet as your local network. Just don't overlap DHCP addresses on your local network.
- Set the Linux machine into bridge mode - read this post about bridge mode setup https://mangolassi.it/topic/8566/zerotier-bridging-configuration/2
- Install ZeroTier on your laptops and join the network
- On the laptops, edit the dns on the ZT network adapter to your domain controller(s).
I did this a year ago so there may be a setting or two I am overlooking. There is a possibility that if you set your laptop's ZT adapter to obtain automatically they will pull from their IP from the local DHCP server and you may not need to set addresses from ZT.

I redirect desktop/docs/downloads, etc to Nextcloud. I don't touch %appdata%.
For this you would also disable offline files in the client correct? Or is that only when redirecting to a share?

I feel like there should be a hunt feature on the ATA itself that would allow me to start with port1 and then move on to the next if port1 is occupied.
How would this work when one ATA has no idea about the next one?
Use a Grandstream HT701 with 4 sub accounts on VoIP.ms.
Each sub account will be an extension in the VoIP.ms ring group or hunt group.
Simplest and easiest thing to do.
Thanks @JaredBusch I knew I was over complicating this setup. I like the idea of treating the “lines” as extensions from VOIP.MS and putting them in a ring group setup with the hunt option.
As always thank you for your expertise.

Voip.ms can be the PBX.
Just not the easiest to use.
I've played around with this as well. The configuration is just not as smooth as working with FreePBX.

I wonder what the costs are for supporting and maintaining that PBX. Perhaps you can find some leverage with that to just move to VOIP completely.
Another question would be do they need 4 DIDs? If not, then that would help make the solution less complex.
Where I am getting a little confused is if I only had 1 DID and an incoming call happens, which ports on the ATA are going to be active? I would think all 4 would be unless I had some kind of separation. That is why I thought 4 DIDs. One for each port on the ATA.
Without reading some documentation on the ATA device, I can't answer you since I've never used those devices before. I am curious though, how many endpoints are connected to the PBX?
I believe 12 phones
The ring group would have to happen on the PBX.
I am going to be on the road all morning so I can’t get into detail right not.
The PBX expense is like $600 in labor assuming FreePBX.
Just have them buy cheap used IP phones off eBay and setup free PBX. You can find them for less than $50 if you dig.
@JaredBusch I totally agree with what you are saying. I would choose to put in FreePBX and all new or used phones. I have setup a FreePBX for this customer in the past. They have multiple businesses and are aware of the benefits and features that it offers. For this particular business they don't want to spend the money on replacing all the equipment. I get the impression that they are thinking of selling in the not so distant future and don't want to spend money where they feel they don't need to.
My goal is to replace the pots lines with sip trunks. The only solution I know of would be to put an ATA/FXS device in front of their current PBX. I just don't know how to create a hunt group similar to how it is setup with the pots lines.
