    • Sketchy Craigslist guy

Most Sketchy person I've ever talked to on craigslist. I think he's up to something

      http://roanoke.craigslist.org/app/5298626060.html

He does not want to meet in public or give his address over text, email or the phone. He wants you to call him and he will give you specific instructions on how to get to his house (supposedly) without telling you what the address is. This is also in an area were there would be no cell service. I told him I'm not going to a place I don't know where its at besides some random directions. He said good, I don't want a buyer that would use a GPS anyway.

Am I reading to much into it?

    • RE: Best Practice for Time Sync for Active Directory Domain Controllers

You set your PDC Emulator to pull from a reliable NTP server then the rest will sync from that ex:

      w32tm.exe /config /manualpeerlist:”0.us.pool.ntp.org 1.us.pool.ntp.org 2.us.pool.ntp.org 3.us.pool.ntp.org” /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:YES /update

I spolied his fun in this thread too http://mangolassi.it/topic/9270/free-calling-to-any-number-worldwide-online/10

Do you really even need to ask? The answer is NO. There are plenty of other reasonable sellers of washers and dryers. It's not like $300 for a washer/dryer is an out of this world deal. I have regularly seen combos in good shape for $200 or even less. Maybe it is just in my area, but I doubt it's a super great deal that you can't match or beat elsewhere.

I got a pair for $75 cause I saw it 20 min after posted and went and picked them up.

Not crazy that it is not enforced. Lots of licensing depends on trust.

I meant crazy that a CCIE guy at a reseller would say that on record.

There are other deals out there.

The top one is a known guy that sells broken ones.

Bottom one would help if he knew how to use categories.

This seems like he's installed Hyper-V 2012 R2 onto an existing Windows Server 2012 R2 server as a "service". Rather than to bare metal.

Hyper-v never runs as a "service". Hyper-v is always a Type 1 Baremetal hypervisor running below the OS. Even if you have a Windows GUI on top of it.

Unfortunately we do have a help desk system. Spiceworks in fact.
But often in an emergency this employee or underlings will come back with an urgent need. Obviously I can't refuse them as this department is directly client facing. Minutes away often, and need something fixed.

We do of course we're server side not L1/L2 but I have my techicians do the same. We do not do Any work whatsoever without a ticket. When it comes time for audit it will bit people in the butt who didn't think that change needed a ticket and/or approval if we don't have them do tickets first.

It takes 2 seconds to submit a ticket.

NAT is just address translation doesn't do any blocking your firewall does that. Just because you know where somethings at doesn't mean you get in. It's like saying you are granted access to a building just because you know the address.

We use some NAT internally but I hate it. But when you do lots of mergers it comes with the territory you can't go re-scoping everything and breaking stuff right away.

      @JaredBusch

If you had experience in the industry you would never ask that. Cisco has long locked their phones by firmware. There are threads and threads of people trying to get the "open" SIP firmware for their Cisco phones.

Yeah really there is a way to get some of the very old ones working but it's an PITA and you'd be better off spending money on a newer phone from someone else..

We have CUCM clusters and even hate a lot of the way they do thing, but when you need the scalability, load balancing that Cisco clusters offer there very few competitors. CUCM has a bad name from SMBs buying it whihout knowing what features they need and just buying cause it says Cisco..

I had an iRobot 400 series, and my mom had a 500 series. The 500 is for sure much nicer than the 400, and I am sure the 800 is great. The biggest thing is maintenance. Make sure you run them on a scheduler daily and the charge base is a must. they work better when just tidying up verses trying to clean a weeks worth of dust on 1 charge. Dump the traps every day so they don't build up. Also, pull the brushes every few weeks especially if anyone has long hair in the home. You will probably have to change the battery after a couple years. It is all worth the effort to have a robot sweep your floors everyday while you are at work.

In other words you do more to keep the irobot running than it takes to just vacuum yourself. haha.

I wonder if the range is still the same as the others? 600 for LR, and 400 for the others.

Why would you buy the LR. Client Devices aren't Long Range.. It's only good for mesh, and even then lets run a cable if we can.

      That's for later?

The rescoping yes, the breaking hopefully not, we get to know the systems and how they are setup more fully (but still possible.)
