forget my DVR admin password
-
find manual book or contact the provider ..
-
i don't have the book and the provider told me to remove the battery, but the removing of the battery doesn't solve the issue
-
How long did you remove the battery for? Try leaving it out for around 10 minutes, and holding the power button for about 5-10 seconds while the dvr is unplugged and the battery is out.

Might be worth providing them with this feedback and asking what to actually do.

I doubt CN8 will reset it, It's not the kind of header for a jumper you'd see for a reset option. looks more like a header for a buzzer/speaker or something. (And there is audio circuitry around it). could even be for chassis intrusion.
-
i don't have any power button to hold it
as for the battery i tried many scenarios without any result, i'm sure the password and configuration is saved in the ROM somewhere else as some guys told my on SW -
Would be helpful for a model/manufacturer for that thing. Aspen doesn't yield much in the way of finding info.
-
Surprised they told you to even open the box..
-
Try the default:
UserName: Admin
Password: .blank. -

thank you very much for this link, it is very handy
i think my feeling that the jumper can reset the DVR is correct based on this how-to
http://kb.zmodo.com/index.php?action=artikel&cat=2&id=221&artlang=en&highlight=passw...
but i'm still fear to damage the board because the DVR model in the how-to is different than mine,
what do you think ?? can i risk and jump the two pins on the motherboard as shown above ?? -
I would feel that that is pretty risky myself. Generally that is safe to do, but only generally.
-
i'm really scared to damage the DVR
-
Look at it this way... it's already ruined, right?
-
hhhhhhh, no it is not ruined, i just forget the password

can you use it without the password? if not, then it really is worthless right now.
-
That's what I was thinking.

What do you need the password in order to do?
