ok, I'm so proud of the level of messiness I've generated on my desk and the one in front of me, I think it's time to share.

That's not a mess, it's a perfect level of entropy.

We used it for a pendant system to notify us of dementia patients that move outside of predefined areas. It was awful.

It's hard to make work correctly because it's based on the variable signal strengths and everything

I'm assuming environmental factors would play a part in this being successful or not.

Correct. Some hospitals have lead walls over near xray etc which completely destroys your signal as an example

I was thinking more towards temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, etc.

Yeah but in a healthcare environment there can be even more than your standard considerations which is why I bring that up

I found this secret picture of the @Minion-Queen at work.
omg that screen size... my neck would get sore.
Other thoughts... would be fun to move the mouse pointer around to play with a cat.

In upper management, if IT denies the purchase request, they'll just go out, purchase their own, and expense it out. But, its also not ITs responsibility to maintain either.

It's a display, not really an IT thing anyway.

You are right. However, to a nom-IT person, they're still considered IT.

Important that IT people not repeat that.
