Password manager for ordinary users?
-
What is your recommendation year 2020 for a password manager for ordinary users running O365 and such?
Has to support desktop and mobile use. Has to be able to share passwords as well. Has to be simple to use and as close to zero maintenance as possible.

LastPass
-
Dashlane is what we had as a major contender the last time we looked at this

Sadly - this is a near impossible request.
While I do use LP daily, it still has glitches. Some websites simply don't work with it, others refuse to have LP populate the username, etc.
I love LP and would also recommend Bitwarden, but a password manager that's simple - simply not a real thing.
I haven't tried the FF built in password manager, but no clue if it syncs between mobile and desktop (but I assume it does) but then you're locked into FF only, the same could be said for Chrome's password manager. of course the problem with both of these, they are limited only to website passwords.

I'm transitioning from LastPass to BitWarden. Both services are good.

If both are good, why the change?

Price and wanting to support an open source project. I have a few months before LastPass would renew, so I'm seeing if BitWarden will fulfill my needs, and if so, not renew LastPass.

Btw, I tried (actually paid for it) Dashlane...no thanks. Terrible, gawd awful support! -
Been a personal/family account last pass user for users, last year brought the enterprise version into the IT dept here at my org. I've been pushing to also get us to pay for accounts for all of our users since we ask them to remember multiple credentials. I think that'll happen later this year so happy about that.

Why not just use Firefox? They have a dedicated password manager now, and it is higher quality than the password storage features in Chrome and the like.

For me the answer is centralized policy control. There are a variety of tweaks I can make to LastPass users usage. Forcing master password changes, forcing 2FA, having a master account to force resets for users who fail password recovery, limiting access, etc.

KeePass. Been using it for years.
It's simple, great for organizing, and the auto-type just works.

Sorry, that UI looks like something from the '60's!

Ever hear of a "Rat Rod"?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It just works as intended. Doesn't have to look pretty, but as soon as the poser hears, "Race you for Pinks" it's a done deal.

Lastpass, NextCloud Passwords and ManageEngine Password Manager Pro (which integrates with Service Desk Plus). All with slightly different purposes. We use the Lastpass for users, we have LastPass Enterprise with some negotiated pricing, and we do shared folders for departments.

A quick and easy way to share a password:
