I'm Laurel as well... don't hear Yanny until very far to the right of that slider, almost all the way.

Double thumbs down. 1 for who gives a fuck, and 1 for posting a link to a site that requires you to register to read the article.
If you don't GAF, don't click on topics in Water Closet with a "Yanny or Laurel?" title??? No common sense today?
I posted it from my phone, which did not make me register to see the article... if it does on desktop I'll find another link.
-
I didnt have to register to see the article either.
-
Ha I honestly don't care either. I think it's funny that my child is going to grow up in a world that can't tell the difference between gold and black or Yanny or Laurel.
Because we're all so special. . .
-
@dustinb3403 That has nothing to do with it. It has to do with how well you can hear certain frequencies. Humans from thousands of years ago would get the same results

It all has to do with it, personal perception of the world we live in.
Which honestly seems like less of a great place (all things considered). no I'm not depressed or even sad, don't PM me

Are you sure? Does someone need a hug?

I wear a CPAP at night, that is how I feel when I am trying to sleep.

I only ever hear Laurel.
-
Only Laurel is what I hear...
-
I hear both, and I can hear Yanny instantly as I move the slider to the right.
Does that mean I'm insane?

I'm Laurel until it stops being a word. I never hear Yanny. Maybe Lambie, but there is always a leading L

I clearly hear Yanny, so does Motoko.

I have odd hearing. Things like power strips and televisions that are turned off bother me from the high pitched sounds that they often make. So I might have a lot of the "yanny" sound in my normal hearing and already filter it out in speech.
-
My wife hears Yanny and never an L. I'm complete opposite and can't figure out how there is any y or n sounds. We haven't seen the page with the slider yet, just the original clip from my link.

Okay I have to take it all the way to the right and I hear a messed up version of Jerrey, but with a Y instead of a J.
-
It is all based off of how you hear certain frequencies.
Lower frequencies: laurel
Higher frequencies: yannyScience is fun huh?
-
I think the frequency response of your speakers also come into play. I only hear Laurel, period. The slider does nothing for me, but I know my hearing is severely damaged. My wife hears both depending on what speakers it's played through.
