Was just told we are moving to a clock in / clock out time clock system starting Monday - Guess it's an app that we download on our phones- For easier tracking of our times etc..
Apparently we "arent supposed to know this yet" because it's gonna be dropped on everyone on Monday morning when it goes into effect - I guess. It's confusing for me that management is hiding it from us - only reason I know is my Direct supervisor told me about it because he doesn't feel like it should be kept a secret til it comes out.We are sorry to inform you that we don't trust you to manage your after we have entrusted you to manage our system....
we were told it's Company wide because it interfaces straight to ADP.

But There are lots of questions for this roll out - and how things are going to work (like After hours on call) but having more accurate time will be nice.

we tracked our time in the Time Sheet per Pay Period on google Drive and had them updated by Monday at 10:00am after the pay period was over.
If you didn't track your time for the weekend on calls - you Had to guess, and I always would guess less than . -
@wrcombs
OK so it's not a - we don't trust you...it's a better way of doing things.
As you already mentioned - it ties directly in with the payroll system, no more importing google sheets, etc.
Also forces you to punch in and out when actually working - assuming people do that correctly - it will more accurately track your time spent working.

Correct, so not really worried about it, but the whole "lets keep it a secret" thing doesn't sit well with me.

yeah, that is weird - how can people possibly know they are supposed to use it starting monday, if they aren't aware of it until monday...
The reality is that people won't use it until tuesday after they have their new usernames and passwords.

That's fair.

I believe it is

Since I am working from home today, I'm taking the time to also play 'radio' a little as well. I just worked a station in Europe, 4,272miles away on just 5watts using the FT8 digital mode.
I'll take that all day long.. Like having state side contacts,.. but that distance is hard to beat when just such limited power.

I'm sure that's just one option. it's very likely one could punch in from a web browser on a computer as well.

Well , since you don't know anything about it now,.. I'd say that's very likely.

Been a weekend of no real report. Rebuilt a toilet that wouldn't flush well (American Standard) because the flush tube was to short (insufficient tank fill), ran a few 3D prints including two F-Bombs using TPU filament (flexible) and made some digital FT8 contacts both US and abroad. Longest contact (heard only) over 6,000 miles, Confirmed contact (heard and reply) +4,000miles... and only running 5w of power. Maps shows I got into South America and Europe and (IIRC) Japan.. Things have been working decently - maybe come June I'll make a few points in Field Day for the club.

I got to thinking on a chance to do more for work,... only I'd have give up more of my personal time. I may still do some of it,.. but I am about done giving my time away - Paid or unpaid..
