Today's AD Pull
1,060 accounts total.. of which 538 are disabled, 555 haven't signed on since I have been here (June 28th), 99 have never signed in....oh the joy of ADUC management.
There's a powershell to help with that.
get-aduser | remove-aduser -- the AD Equivalent of rm -rf
Well ,... I will at the VERY Least - kick to the disabled folder.
We are moving forward with a complete ADUC re-do.
If I were doing that - I'd be starting with a brand new domain all on Server 2021.

@eddiejennings Clearpass is a Aurba/HPE product that does some wizard stuff to stop unauthorized stuff just plugging into the network at any of our sites
But yeah i agree, if i have it use it
Why not use an LE cert?

While preferred - likely not going to occur. So,..Work with what I have / can.

How exactly are you starting over then?

ROFL! I'm still laughing at random Root certs expiring and breaking all the things.

Random?
You know it only affected things that weren't getting updated, right? So if you have old shit that's not getting updates - of course that shit will eventually break. -

As @Dashrender said, it's only things that haven't been updated. It's been at least a couple of years now that the new cert chain has been in place and the timeline for the old one to expire announced.
The company we merged with has a bunch of firewalls that never got that update. Talk about looking bad, that's at least 2 years with no updates!

Drinking coffee #1 this morning - these will be much needed today.
Some (im going to guess crack head- ) guy was riding around my neighborhood right outside my windows last night on a riding lawn mower at midnight until about 1am - screaming at something on the mower -
Asked him multiple times to stop with no luck - woke me up and kept me up for that hour and some change. -
had coffee, waiting on breakfast

@pchiodo is running new cables to my office, which also has the PoE switch in it for now, because we are hooking up another WAP.

Sitting through Federal jury selection process. COVID era really drags this out.

This is day 2 and they haven't even selected the jury yet?

Day 1 was orientation and COVID testing. Today is jury selection.

I'm just the IT tech, I've been told to get one for it lol.
Also guess the appliance/vm doesn't like Letsencrypt certs? -

Not selected, and released to go home.
Feel a bit sorry for those selected. They have to stay and get questioned more. Apparently they took more than 14 because they lawyers were not able to agree and have to filter it down to 14.
-
@jaredbusch would you have like to have been selected?
I was requested to attend for jury service once when younger. Turned up with long hair and a Jimmi Hendrix shoulder bag. Didn't get selected, wonder why?

Finished upgrading one of my home computers to Windows 11.

It is annoying, and breaks your schedule.
But if you donβt participate, then you canβt bitch about a bad jury when something happens that affects you.

The county sheriff office had their main server break overnight. This has bad day written all over it.
