How Texas has their own, unregulated power company that has a near monopoly over the area is what has me confused.
ERCOT is a publicly traded company with share holders, right? How did it manage this?

They are a nonprofit arm of the state legislature.

We are now getting power from Mexico. Because Texas shares power with MX but not the US.

@scottalanmiller I don't think you need to take the ice to a boil to melt it....

Securing my Snipe server
Ran a nessus scan to see what it said, came up with a few things. Like i wasn't running SSL,
Also TLS 1.0 is enabled - but i can't seem to work out how to disable at the moment -

He looked like he was going to die at any minute the way he screamed and raved at people from his studio.

In Ohio it's just another winter day for us. Texas and other southern states are just not prepared for this sort of weather, because it really doesn't make sense for them when this sort of thing happens so infrequently.
@siringo How's your summer going?
-
All Hands company meeting today, working with our EVP of HR in Austin getting her on cellular Internet for Teams. Teams is actually very responsive on a very low bandwith connection kind of surprised!

While I agree us Northern states system's are prepared for this kind of cold weather it still sucks! For people in the Southern states like Texas its completely unacceptable that the infrastructure isn't prepared for this sort of an weather issue.
Texas in particular was warned and suggested to winterize their infrastructure but for whatever the reasoning they didn't.
