all good, found the clips, interesting.

Did some work, I think that it shows something now. Definitely looks like it was a glitch, though, because once I poked around it started showing things without me adding something to show. Fishy.
-
I ran into that bug for AppGini's videos.. choose the video tab and you'll see them.

Bed time here.

Yum. On-premises data center power outage last night. Glad I handed the on-call phone off that morning

have to get ready, getting interviewed by Fox News in an hour.

Day 2 Sinus Cold is kicking my ass.
Son's finally feeling better though.. Even though he's the one who passed this along to me. -
Foundation inspector is here.

Was able to fix the first OptiPlex 9020 (Windows RE,
bootrec /RebuildBcd
), but it didn't work for the other PCs. Exactly the same hardware, installed from the very same image, same UEFI settings, same WinRE.. hell, I even used the same coffee mug.I think I'm going to nuke them and build some more unattended installers for PDQ Deploy.

I'm back from my interview. That's the first time that I know of that I've been on the news.

My car was towed illegally (which is really just stealing it) and that is a big thing down here. I won in court, but the towing company just didn't bother to pay. They run a scam with the apartment complex where one of them publishes one set of parking rules, and the other another, and then tow you for anything they want. It's illegal, but they've paid off the state to look the other way.
The state is aware and an attorney is dealing with it. But the state gets paid to let them do this, so they don't have much incentive to look into it deeply or quickly.
However, a senator has stepped in, so things are happening.

Is it a TV thing, or actual IT work?

TV thing for predatory towing here in Dallas. I had my car essentially outright stolen, the Dallas PD admitted that they had basically paid for a license and as long as they reported taking the car, there was nothing you could do - even if they took it out of your own driveway the license meant that the police were forced to look the other way and only the licensing board could do something.

Yes. Once they have a license to tow in the city, they can take any car, from any where.

That state senate is investigating at least.

that's good.
Here they have private tow companies to tow cars out of public lots with no posted signage that says they can't park there for example at this bar I frequent ; everyone used to park in the public library parking lot, now, they tow anyone who parks in that parking lot after 9:00 PM, but there's no posted Sign, and it could like 350 to get your car out of their Impound.. Same BS you're dealing with on a larger scale

Check the local laws. I took them to court and won in minutes. They had zero evidence as to their right to tow, I have proof of permission to park. That was that.
Now dealing with the private towing company paying the city to tell the police not to accept a stolen car report.
