What Are You Doing Right Now
-
Back to waiting on computers again... Waiting on Spiceworks Dev edition to install on one server, and waiting on SQL Server to install on another.
-
Just got by from a follow up with my doctor. Everything looks good so far. And... for some reason he told me I should look at jobs at Greenville Health Systems in SC. He said healthcare & government is the only thing not going out of business around here and that's even scary for healthcare.

There's a spiceworks dev edition? I'm guessing it's as slow and painful as the normal version.

I had no idea that that portion of SC was having issues. I wonder what is causing that.

First that I have heard of that too. What is the difference?

No not SC was having issues. That we are. Three more companies announced they were closing down today in Roanoke. One is moving to NC to do business.

OH, the doctor was local to you and telling you to head down to SC. That makes more sense. SC always is the example of one of the states really growing.

Yeah.. Apparently many doctors are making plans just in case.

I don't know why everybody complains Spiceworks these days. It used to be really awfully, painfully slow. I used the inventory piece since v1.x... That part is still kinda sluggish some times. The Helpdesk though, has been awesome since v6.x. It worked out really well for the guys at my last job. They're on 7.3 now. 8-)
I am mainly getting it, just I can help people debug widgets and such, lol.

Working inside the config of a Cisco 1921 router. It's kinda fun actually...trying to determine discrepancies between two different router configs and figure out why one isn't working by seeing how the other is configured...pretty cool actually!

@thanksajdotcom Reverse engineering stuff is fun! Unless you are under a lot of pressure, lol.

Building a NACHA file for approval.

Just watched some fool try to drive by my house. We went out to watch the spectacle. He's lucky his car made it. He stalled out four or five times just going up the "driveway" and totally smoked his clutch. The street is full of smoke now. It was ridiculous.
-
The whole street, in all the houses, still smells like burning car.

How exciting that must be.
Horribly exciting. Customer is switching banks and they generally draft a few million dollars a day from their clients.
New bank had issues with the existing NACHA file so I went through the code and the old bank certainly did not hold to the standard. But they have always processed the file. The old bank file has been in place for 10 years or more. No idea really.
