You bet. Right now, I've inherited a network which grew for 20 years. And it looks like that. It works, somehow, but it's time to give it a facelift

I see what you mean, and already thought so too. It's just dedicated budget that would be lost otherwise and we want to try some things with high bandwith streaming.

I see what you mean, and already thought so too. It's just dedicated budget that would be lost otherwise
Stop right there - as IT, it's our job to do what's right for the business, which is always saving money.
and we want to try some things with high bandwith streaming.
Now with this, OK, if this extra bandwidth is actually useful (where are you streaming from? will it not be saturated before this pipe is?), then sure, the extra spend is worthwhile.
