@JaredBusch we are planning an IKEA kitchen soon in Dallas.
We spent about $14k at IKEA, but that included all the appliances.
For the curious, IKEA apliances in the US are private label Whirlpool

We were planning IKEA stuff unless someone wants to do customs.
haha... you'd be the client, you'd have to "want" customs.
What he means is, if Art would build him and transport to TX, customs

He could build them in Texas, too.

The equipment it takes to build them isn't exactly movable and your garage is WAY too small to move it too. Well he could build crappy cabinets from premade stuff from like Lowes but that wouldn't be any better (or actually worse) than what you already have.

But it would be new, and with more holes..

Manning the fort at home due to a sick wife and sticking in work here and there as I can. I'm thankful for having a flexible job!

Short of going pure custom from a cabinet maker, I really like the quality, options, simplicity, and price from IKEA.

Yeah. We like them a lot.

@art_of_shred has built some amazing kitchens (he used to do custom cabinetry full time) and I have beautiful custom kitchen (well it's not fully done yet but about 90% there). And I still want Ikea cabinets (I like the metal ones, I really don't like wood stuff that much).
-
I like wood, because it's "warmer", but metal is so easy to clean.

I would love to have metal cabinets. But I need new counter tops first. But now you've made me want metal cabinets too...

Sitting Ready for home but another 1hr 10 to go

The wife hates the stainless steel look. So it's all wood for us.
-
I have no idea what we will get. That's up to @Dominica

Love the stainless look but I think it would be too clinical/sterile for a kitchen.

I want all stainless everything so my kitchen will look and perform like a commercial kitchen, also known as a 100% functional space. But I don't have a wife to bitch and moan about the decor, so I may actually be able to go stainless.
-
I would love a fully stainless kitchen but with a husband who can build custom stuff i get stuck with wood.

Or get a wife who is also a master chef and would make use of the high end kitchen you've spent a fortune on.

I wouldn't hate that, but I'm pretty handy in the kitchen myself. I would be in dreamland with a commercial style stainless kitchen.

I ordered this cleaver for myself yesterday, can't wait until it arrives... 176 true layers of Damascus steel...
