New watch looks nice I didn't pay that close of attention to that. New Phones are 7 and 7+
Is the much ado about no headphone jack true?
Does it matter honestly?
Why wouldn't people use a bluetooth headset?
Battery life. Reliability. Pain in the butt. Can't find one that works.
I don't use BT headsets. I've had a few and they all need recharged, which is a huge pain, and none work more than a few months, which makes them ridiculously expensive. I want a jack and traditional headphones.

Yeah, but what about all the hobby businesses that only process credit cards with the mobile payment things that plug into a headphone jack? They're all going to be forced to pay fees to Apple now instead of the super cheap ones in place today.
-
It's true, no headphone jack, huge loss of functionality.

They'll be forced to Android.

There is a dongle thing they will put in the box that is the lightning jack to headphone jack
-
No headphone jack makes it even shittier than the rest of Crapple's products.

Ewww... that sounds awful. Have they totally forgotten about this thing called usability?

There are new Airpods (ear buds no wires)

But they need to be charged, I bet

That's a pretty significant loss of functionality. I get that they want to seal it for water proofing, but.... ugh.
-
I don't get the love for the headphone jack.
They are including an adapter, so you can still you traditional headphones.
Whats the point of having two ports when you can do everything you need with one.

I want a simple way to not use extra batteries, to have headphones that don't need to be recharged, ever. I don't want extra dongles to make this happen.
If you can do that without a headphone jack, I'm all for it.

See the part that doesn't work well there

What's the point of having to connect one of the most used plugs (headphone) to another adapter cable, then to the device? Ass-f[moderated]ing-backwards. I guess they will make millions selling those stupid adapter cables to idiots.

Why wouldn't Square design a unit that can connect over BlueTooth?

If the one port doesn't need an adapter to add the second port back in, then great. But my understanding is that two ports are still needed, but even worse than building it in, you have to carry the second port around separately. Total fail if that's the case.

I think they do.

I completely disagree on the loss of functionality. It is called moving forward. The fact that they are including both a Lightning to analog converter as well as the lightning earpods themselves is amazing.
