What Are You Doing Right Now

Ok after doing some troubleshooting last night.
So, I think, this is what happened. My top video card, I have a crossfire setup, was overheating it idles around 100 degrees Celsius. The heat leached into the PCI-E slot or the board somehow and damaged the connection. The second card, the one the bottom with really good air flow, was perfectly fine idling ~40-60C, a bit too warm but I haven't reapplied the thermal paste since I bought them five years ago. So I'm running off of one video card now....
To top it all off this is an LGA 1366 socket with an X58 chipset motherboard. Boards that are no longer manufactured... so I'm stuck spending retail for used boards or upgrading my CPU, RAM, and motherboard to something newer.... probably wouldn't be a totally bad thing... just not in the cards right now.
Upgrade to a RoG G752 you'll be very impressed.

Still trying to wake up. Today is all about writing marketing material for Vendors.

I'm playing with ShareX ... Somebody posted it, and I think I've just found a Greenshot replacement... The irony is that ShareX actually uses the Greenshot Image editor, lol!
-
I'm supposed to be doing the Australian Census tonight but the website got magically DDoS'd by millions of Australians all attempting to give it a go online... on designated census night.
Yeah, the Australian Bureau of Statistics just got schooled in capacity planning.
Looks like I'll be doing the paper version.

I'll have to play with that some.
Step one ... getting it to load automatically.

What's the problem with having literally everyone in Australia log in to one website simultaneously?

Nothing new. When do governments scale correctly..

I know, right! What could go wrong with 65% of the population expected to hit one website on one night and fill out a multi-page questionnaire

Scales on demand (with substantial tax-payer price hikes)

Im impressed it gives you that haha
Yeah, it's almost 11PM MT+8 (most of AU is GMT +10), everyone's shot through, so they can get that bit back up at least. Heaps of connection time out errors.
#CensusFail is trending on Twitter -

#CensusFail is trending on TwitterI think you've government is simply counting the number of failed connections (with a grain of salt) and coming up with a rough number for the population.
They're probably ecstatic that so many people have even gone to the website.

Good morning everyone.

Perhaps, but it would be easier to submit an FOI to the NSA and subpoena Facebook.
No need for a census in which people do silly things like mark their religion as Jedi. -

They shouldn't need to scale, they know exactly how many users they will have ahead of time!

One would expect that, being that voting is also compulsory (unless religious grounds or served more than 5 years jail for a single sentence), the AEC should have been able to provide relatively accurate numbers.
