When was the award awarded? Before or after the medical community decided his experiments were inhuman, etc?

The medical community still accepts a lot of things as humane than the rest of society does not. The award was given back when most everyone accepted the procedure, but mostly because no one was looking into it. It sounded good on paper, but not when people witnessed it happening to real people.

Sent my resume out today for a much higher paying position in a much better company. The job hasn't been posted yet so I may be the only person aware of them looking right now, which would be fantastic.

I'm not 100% sure in all honesty. I was just told they are looking for an IT Tech. I asked if it was part of a team and they said no so I assume it will be akin to what I am doing now only higher paying as the business is in the same field as my current one is. We'll see. The worst thing they can say is no and that's fine.

Making us document and map each Vistual Basic / VB.net Runtime install. They act like it's actually Visual studio and needs a license.

It's a runtime. aka a redistributable https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24417
It comes with other software. Nothing in the EULA for it allows this.

just had a catch up with a friend who's the MD of an IT Business, he was trying to get me to work for him, but the distance is too much for me (2 hours travel each way in rush hour traffic...) but he put me in touch with his friend who's a recruiter. Had a good chat with him and he's suggested doing some contracting work so I can still do some travelling etc...so feeling better today!
