Just inherited a vSphere 5.5 system running Windows 2012 R2 on several systems! Damn, this was about to be deployed as a new production platform! Everything is 6+ years out of date!
That was about to be deployed!? Oh for pities sake.
Yeah, for real.

Though for that matter, a previous place I worked at - had a 5 year old server alpha server they sold for a mint to a client. My friend was unaware that his company sold it to him... and told the client - uh, you should really replace this, it's 5+ and alpha... a rare dog these days...
Oh man was he in some BS hot water after that.. but It didn't last that long.
Hahahaha, at least he was honest.

I've known this for a long time now, but nobody around here is even trying to convince anyone to move off of it.
-
@scottalanmiller What this doesn't get your warm and fuzzies going?

Pushed a commit to one of my FreePBX tools I am tinkering with.
https://github.com/sorvani/freepbx-helper-scripts/tree/extensions_status/Extension_StatusThink I need to split this out into it's own repo.
-

What do you not like about teams? It's not the greatest in the world, but it's certainly not the worst. We use it extensively here at my day job. AFAIK, we're not having any major issues with it.
-
@dafyre I personally don't like much about it either. It feels like AOL Messenger with how we use it.
The calling feature, is okay but has a practical limitation if you wanted handsets (softphone only boys).
The message tracking/searching is fundamentally flawed, and the chat features are difficult to use, like adding people or doing a basic search for history.
It doesn't need to be this difficult..

Ha. I'd hope it works a little better. We mainly use it for video calling and group calls. I use it for chatting (we're stuck with Cisco Jabber as the alternative, lol) with my team and other folks.
I don't have to do the message search too often, but it usually find what I'm looking for.
I definitely agree that it doesn't need to be so difficult. And they need to quit moving stuff around so much!
-
@dafyre Honestly though, think back to AOL Messenger, it was dead simple and worked. (granted different era) but you could add people to a room, search for people/content(messages) and do just about everything that it seems Teams is attempting to.
There is nothing special about Teams in the service it offers, and its also so costly to just have access too.
Even NodeBB (this forum) works better for the very same things I've mentioned above.

I find that I agree with you in this, lol. Even the facepalm.... But Teams is new and improved, right?

Big things for me.... it simply doesn't work. No matter what platform I'm on, whether it is installed or not, it just doesn't work.
Even on the rare occasion that it works it is SO slow. Twenty or thirty seconds to load a meeting, for example.

I blame that on the fact that you have always had some sort of problems with your Microsoft accounts, lol. They have your account on an old and slow server that should have been retired sometime around the time Windows 3.1 was released, lol.

Currently, my issues are mainly:
I'm now a member of 2 teams (separate tenancies/organisations) and either have to keep switching between organisations or have one of them open in the web version... unnecessarily tediousThe search function blows chunks, looking for something 6 months ago? it'll find you the >exact< message, but provide no context as it won't bring up the surrounding messages.
Granted, it's orders of magnitude better than Jabber but that may just be down to the implementation but things just don't seem to be easy.
I can't say with certainty that I'd specifically pay for it.
-
@siringo no.. the bit type has nothing to do with the installation source size.
