Once PTO is approved, I'll look for accommodations.

I'm getting enough back in taxes that I can afford to attend, yay!

That sucks

Well work denied funding the trip down, but I think 2-3 of us are still going to try to attend. What are good options for hotels on the cheap in the area?

A few that are semi-cheap that are super close. If you are willing to go farther afield (only 5-10 minutes driving) you get lots of really cheap options from local stuff to things like Comfort Inns and even a low cost Courtyard up on Trinity Mills. It's by the airport, so options are plentiful.

The Holiday Inn Express was good, but it seems availability is pretty much gone.

In fact, if someone wants to split, I have an open spot since @Dashrender bailed.

@Dashrender WAT!! PTO is just that. With more than 2 weeks notice ANY company should honor a PTO request. While the hell are you working if they won't even let you take the time off that you want to take off. It's a job. They pay you for 8 hours a day, which IMHO doesn't give them the right to tell you when you can use granted PTO. Not coming down on you @Dashrender but if your company treats you this way, maybe it's time to look at other opportunities.
