Finally got some work done on the bathroom floors this weekend. All that's left is to cut out a hole for the AC, screw the floor down, and start laying out linoleum. I can't make up my mind if I want to do a single large sheet or some peel & stick type linoleum... What do y'all prefer handling?

Peel & Stick is what I would suggest as you can easily replace small sections as needed instead of the whole floor.

I try not to do linoleum and probably won't in any future homes. The contractor relatives have some horror stories of "properly" sealed linoleum leaking and causing some serious damage to the sub-floor.

I have done the peel and stick in areas where there isn't water. It works ok. It tends to lose its stickiness on the edges and corners though.

^^^ This x1000. Linoleum is the worst. The peel and stick ones leave lots of edges that can leak. Find some tile on sale and put that down properly, you'll be good for a lifetime.

For a bathroom, I'd much prefer glazed ceramic floor tile over anything else.

Pretty much this. You can get really decent ceramic tile (especially ones without the pigment all the way through) for a reasonable price. We did our bathroom with discontinued tile, purchased a few extra boxes "just in case" . Which you'll probably need if this is your first time cutting tile.

Make sure you put cement board down under your tile and on top of your subfloor.

And if you want to make your wife incredibly happy put something like this infront of the sink and outside of the shower underneath your tile.

None grounded, and not covered in tiles so I can short her out and cook her at the same time?!

                      Wonderful idea.

Generally with peel & stick, the issue is like the others have said: Leaks.

The current issue was caused by a leaky toilet this time (it leaked under neath the floor instead of around the sides). My folks hired out somebody to do tile in their kitchen a few years ago, and it's not doing so well around the edges. Similar issue to the edges of linoleum coming up.

We're not sure what we want to do, but we do have a few designs to pick from for the peel & stick.

What? That doesn't really make much sense. Did they use a ceramic tile? Did they grout inbetween? Seems like there is something funky going on here.

They have some tiles that are coming up near the edges where one room meets another. Yes on Ceramic and yes on grout. The good news is that it seems to have stopped at 2 or 3 tiles around the edges, I think. Something funky for sure. I think Pops fixed them. I haven't paid attention the last couple of trips down.

Power just went out here for a whole city block. All my systems are currently still up and running off of both UPS and a propane generator that is plumbed to the city. I love it when a plan comes together.

I was out much of the day. Trying to catch up myself, but have to take the family to IKEA to get a desk for the wife.
