      Hi folks,

I purchased one on the weekend; this has been the first time in years that I've started to pay attention to my health.
Already seeing value with the spend and thought it would be good to add some 'friends' to compete on the app...

You are able to do things like challenges, and who does the number of steps. Little things, but makes the whole time using the device slightly more interesting.

I already know I have a lot of work to do, at 5ft 4", and 221 lbs, all fat... that much is obvious. What I didn't know was my resting pulse is in the 90s! Time to get healthy!

Who here has a Fitbit and what is your handle? Feel free to PM me so its not public etc 🙂

      Best,
      Jim

Are you able to give friends in the app access to your current heart rate?

I used to, but I washed two of them (old version that attached to clothing). I didn't bother buying another.

I did have a Microsoft Band 2 for a while, but damaged the charging cord and haven't bothered with it sense.

I've got one of the FitBit Charges (doesn't do the HR monitoring) with the flimsy bands that fall off after 6 months... Nothing a little stupor glue and electric tape can't fix.

If it ever breaks (even the band) they will replace it very hassle free.

Only while it is under warranty. I had mine replaced twice, lol.

I've considered getting a fitness watch to nag me to get up and move. . .

I like the Fitbit line of gear. I'm hoping that the company who bought them out in the last year or so (Pebble?) doesn't mess them up too badly.

My wife has one and really likes it. She had an Apple Watch for a day, replaced it once and returned replacement promptly. Battery wouldn't last as advertised and fitness tracker was way inaccurate, showing something like 200kcal burned during entire day. No such issues with Fitbit.
