      Downloading the 196MB file:
      Vultr: 1 sec
      A2: 1 min.

reference: My FIOS connection is 150/150

How did you download 196 MB of data in 1 second? 150 Mbps, if my math is right, is ~18 MB/sec. Do you mean 10 seconds? Does FiOS do some sort of temporary bursting above your subscription rate? I'm merely curious.

      No, it was 1 sec.
I clicked download & boom just like that the, download was complete!

      Must have been cached.

Even at 10 secs, it is/was way, way faster than the A2 service.

I don't know if you saw in the other thread but I found out today that A2 has all sorts of limits on the "unlimited" plan.

I bet you hit one and got throttled.

@BRRABill Yes, at the start of this thread we discussed A2's "lack" of speed.

Them having speed and them throttling specific users are different things, IMO.

True, and from what I've read here there are restrictions/limitations to A2 that make it even less attractive to use.

If the 196 MB file was truly "downloaded" and not cached, then you were receiving a transfer rate of 1568 or ~1.5 Gbps. Unless you have more than 1G of bandwidth between you and your ISP.... 😄

Now if he was in Romania, we'd expect those kinds of speeds.

@FATeknollogee I used easydns for several domains for several years and didn't have any issues but I recently moved to cloudflare for several key domains.

Wait, did you use their CentOS image? That thing sucks. SELinux is disabled by default.

Or did you install the CentOS 7 ISO from their ISO library?
